Now we get to be subjected to the twit Geraldo Riverra for the next millenium.  Gov Blagojevich has been impeached and removed from office.

Chicago Tribune, You Tube, Star Tribune, Stuck on Stupid, Fox News, Chicago Breaking News, ...

The vote was 59-0 folks.  Now we can move on with the criminal trial where the ACTUAL constitutional Due Process is ACTUALLY applied.  I am sick and tired of idiots (Geraldo Riverra and genre) thinking the proceedings in Chicago were unconstitutional.  They were EXACTLY constitutional.

In a nutshell: not only has Blago been impeached, he cannot hold a political office in Illinois ever again.  Period.  I am wondering when his trial will be since the impeachment proceedings were delaying that part.  He WAS arrested nearly two months ago which is something Geraldo seems to dosmiss.  He seems to think that the impeachment process was the trial and it wasn't.  The CRIMINAL trial is next.

By the way, both votes for impeachment and political banning was 59-0.  The Lt Gov, a Democrat (oh brother) became Gov of Illinois immediately after the vote and removal.  We will be watching you Gov Patrick Quinn.

ABC News - Washington Compost -

From the pile of compost file: CHICAGO, Jan. 29 -- The Illinois Senate voted unanimously Thursday to remove Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D) from office for abuse of power, ending a weeks-long impeachment ordeal that ranged between drama and farce. [...]

From ABC:

Just hours after delivering a passionate last-minute plea to keep his job, Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was convicted unanimously this evening of abuse of power and ousted from office by the state Senate.  Not only did lawmakers boot Blagojevich from power by a vote of 59-0, they also voted to prevent him from holding office in the state in the future, also by a vote of 59-0.

Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn will take over the office of governor, effective immediately.

Blagojevich: 'You Haven't Proved a Crime'

Earlier today, Blagojevich delivered one last-gasp, combative and unapologetic address at the impeachment trial.

"There hasn't been a single piece of information that proves any wrongdoing," Blagojevich said. "You haven't proved a crime. And you can't, because it hadn't happened. You haven't given me a chance to disprove a crime because, so far, a crime has not been proven here in this impeachment proceeding. How can you throw a governor out of office with insufficient and incomplete evidence? [...]

Just like Geraldo, he doesn't understand his own State Constitution.  Perhaps he should read it.  This impeachment wasn't about whether he did anything illegal.  It was his ethics and abuse of power that was on "trial".  Besides, him and his ilk CREATED this "issue".

Another putz gone.

What was the "drama" and which was the "farce"?  The drama was Blago getting Geraldo stoked up and the farce was Geraldo all stoked up.
