What Happened To Newt? Did He Get Obama'd?
Friday, October 16, 2009 at 5:38PM American Power: Newt Gingrich Joins Daily Kos in Dede Scozzafava Endorsement! and Michelle Malkin: Calling them out: NRCC, RNC & Gingrich back Margaret Sanger Award winner. I suppose his Contract With America those many years ago was just a bust but, DAMN! I suppose too much of Obama running around can get the silly all beguiled but, but, NEWT?
American Power:
Look, Newt Gingrich is utterly reviled by the hardline partisans of the netroots left. So when Gingrich winds up on the same political page as Markos Moulitsas, you know something in the GOP it TFU.
In June, Moulitsas decried the "GOP’s jihad" against Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor. As Kos wrote then, "Newt Gingrich Twittered that since a white racist shouldn’t sit on the Supreme Court, a 'Latina woman racist should also withdraw'." Now though, Kos and Gingrich are happily singing duet together in backing RINO Dede Scozzafava in New York's 23rd district special election. Gingich's endorsement is at The Hill today, "Gingrich Endorses Scozzafava in NY-23 Race." But check Daily Kos from earlier this month, "NY-23: The Most Liberal Candidate Leads (And It's Not the Dem)": [...]
Michelle Malkin:
If you have given to the NRCC, RNC, or Newt Gingrich under the impression that they are using the money to support conservatism, you might want to ask for your money back.
As I mentioned in my column post on the NY23 special election, the NRCC is using conservatives’ money to back a radical leftist and attack a bona fide, viable conservative candidate for Congress in a safe Republican district. Gingrich has endorsed the radical leftist.
Now comes word from CQ that the Republican National Committee has made a “six-figure transfer” of funds to the NRCC to support Scozzafava: [...]
I am SO glad that I haven't given ANY funds to the GOP/RNC for about 8 years now. Remember Newt sitting with Pelosi on a couch talking about how great they will be together? Remember that one? Silly Newt. He's just too far from everybody that he now wants to get close to everybody. Idiot.
Remember how Newt has been trying to get in on the Tea Parties and other Constitutional groups? Screw Newt.
No one that cares about the USC should give a damn about a Leftinistra even if they are "republicans".

This is silly...
Another from Donald Douglas: Why is Newt Gingrich Endorsing Dede Scozzafava?
I suppose Newt wants to fit in with his good buddies at the RNC/GOP mash-ups.
Michelle Malkin: A message from NY-23 conservative candidate Doug Hoffman
OK folks. Newt and other leftist republicramps are supporting a KNOWN leftists "republican". Here is Doug Hoffman's yake on this whole issue...
It’s time for conservatives to show the Republican establishment who’s in charge
By Doug Hoffman
There’s nothing like a drop in the polls to bring out a candidate’s principles.
With her numbers plummeting – and mine rising – and only three weeks left until the election in NY-23, Dede Scozzafava has decided she needs to change her stripes to get conservative votes.
Specifically, she’s changed her position on income taxes. One would have expected more hostility to taxes earlier in the campaign, since she had a leadership role in her brother’s company as it racked up almost $200,000 in unpaid tax liens. But alas.
On August 18 Scozzafava’s campaign called my signing of the Taxpayer Protection Pledge a “stunt”:
Matthew A. Burns, campaign spokesman for Republican candidate Dierdre K. Scozzafava, said Mr. Hoffman’s pledge was a “stunt,” and did not indicate if his candidate would sign.
On October 1 Scozzafava herself publicly promised not to sign the pledge:
Scozzafava said she won’t sign the pledge because the income tax is just one form of tax, and that more people could be impacted if, for example, you refuse to increase income taxes under any circumstances but raise other taxes or fees instead. [...]

Newt has been off the reservation for a long time. He is a big government proponent even though he uses private/public partnerships to veil his real aims. I well remember getting excited about his "American Solutions" debut weekend long seminars, thinking that he really was very conservative. Immediately after this event, Huckabee took every single healthcare idea from Newt as if it were all his ideas. It sure smacked of big government intervention to me the whole time.
Same for energy.
I have not trusted Newt since that time at all.
I've sent a message to Sarah Palin on her Facebook page. If she endorses the RINO's opponent, Doug Hoffman, this will really PO the elitists and help him far more than the RINO bitch's RNC endorsement.
Get Sarah Palin all over the RINOs!
