I wonder if Dede is backing down. Oh. Wait. The Democrats In Drag are rallying?
Conservatives do not always have obvious choices when deciding whether or not to support a RINO. Who, today, thinks we would be worse off if John McCain were president? Ideally, conservatives should have united early behind a solid candidate, but when the meetings of conservative Republicans I attended keep focusing on not nominating "Rudy McRomney," then it was hard to see who our best standard bearer should be.
The situation is entirely different in the 23rd Congressional District of New York in the special election which will decide on November 3, 2009 whether a liberal Republican or a conservative should represent the district. Dede Scozzafava, the Republican nominee in that traditionally Republican district, would doubtless win the special election (and re-election twelve months later in the mid-term general election) if pesky conservatives would just follow the sage counsel of moderate Republicans. YA THINK? Screw Newt and his kabal of DIDs.
I received an e-mail from someone working with the Hoffman campaign and he had a few things I should add to my timeline, so I did.
Here’s the update:
On October 15, Siena Research Institute’s polling showed Hoffman rising seven points in 15 days, while Scozzafava dropped five points in the same time, leading Siena pollster Steven Greenberg to write, ““Scozzafava’s seven-point lead has evaporated over the last two weeks, as voters have gotten to know all the candidates better.” [...]
Go read THAT post!
[...] It has recently come to my attention that the Republican Party bosses met behind closed doors to select the candidate for the special election to fill the vacancy created by the appointment of John McHugh to the office of Army secretary.
They selected Dede Scozzafava, a liberal member of the state Assembly. She received the same Planned Parenthood award that was awarded to Hillary Clinton. With President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pushing an anti-life agenda through the House, we do not need another pro-abortion politician in Washington.
Let's send a message: both the Democratic and Republican candidates are pro-abortion, but the Conservative candidate Doug Hoffman is pro-life. On Nov. 3, pull the lever for Doug Hoffman on the Conservative line and cast a vote for life. ~ Ann Dougherty [...]
MAKE IT HAPPEN IN NY23 PEOPLE!
Palin, once again, does the right right. And it's wildly refreshing. The left is twisted in knots. That's what she does. She twists up the bankrupt leftopaths: “Sarah Palin’s latest blunder". They are going to choke on their own vomit.
Palin is backing the conservative in a local New York race. Good for her. The old guard is backing an ACORN Working Family party endorsed RINO. WTF? Will the old guard ever get a cluebat? I mean that historical footnote, ole' Gingrich, came out for ultra liberal Dierdre Scozzafava.
DeeDee is the classic DIABLO, Democrat in all but label only. Have we not had enough of these turncoats? Have they not wreaked havoc on this once great party? It is time to take a stand. Rout the old guard. [...]
"Route the old guard". I LOVE that!
There are so many people talking about this NY23 race and it IS a very important race. Let's get with this one people!
