I am SO glad that I dumped the GOP back in 2005. Good God.
Michelle Malkin's piece today reveals many folks sending in their GOP surveys with very obvious "threats". Enter the Independents. Give 'em HELL, Michelle!
How's this next one?
U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) introduced an amendment to the United States Constitution Tuesday that would apply term limits to all members of Congress.
DeMint’s proposed amendment would restrict House members to three terms and Senators to two terms in office. The amendment is cosponsored by U.S. Senators Tom Coburn (R-Oklahoma), Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas), and Sam Brownback (R-Kansas).
As an amendment to the Constitution, the measure would require a two-thirds majority vote approval in the House and Senate and would have to be ratified by three-fourths of the states.
Doug calls this the No Chance In Hell amendment. Why? Two-thirds of the cronies in DC won't sign such a thing because then their powers are limited...just like HR 450 would do by decreasing their unconstitutional powers. Are You Serious? Yes. We are.
On top of the GOP is racist/sexist and all that lunacy and the "drop dead" amendment, we have this one:
[...] The clearest signal yet from the Blue Senator from a Red State that he's not going to go along with the Democratic plan to cripple our nation's healthcare system. The Democrats need all of their senators, plus both Independents, if they want to get cloture on a healthcare bill (unless Republican squishes decide to cross the aisle). [END]
