Reid's Fuzzy Math and the Saturday Take Down of the USA
Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 10:19PM I many times wonder why these Bills are voted on during the weekend hours. Makes me go hmmmm.
Jeffrey H. Anderson / New York Post: Reid's fuzzy math
‘Reform’ bill's true cost is twice advertised price — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is touting the Senate’s newest health-care bill as costing $849 billion over 10 years. But this uses the same accounting trick as past versions: 99 percent of the costs don’t kick in until the fifth year of that “10 year” period. And the true 10-year costs are well over twice what Reid's advertising: $1.8 trillion. [...]
Good job ReidCo. Good job. What a damned liar these defeatocrats are. Is anyone listening to this? They are voting on Saturday for this thing to "discuss it" later?
Michelle Malkin: All the Demcare tax hikes from A to Z — plus SEIU’s takeover thesaurus
Check out the list of Demcare tax hikes here, tell everyone you know, and melt the phones.
Harry Reid has scheduled the first Senate test vote for Saturday night.
Plus: LaborPains.org has obtained the SEIU internal playbook on what words to use (and to avoid) when pushing the government health care takeover.
Sample of words to avoid:
Don’t: “Free.”
Do: “Sliding scale.”Don’t: “Medicare for all.”
Do: “A choice of public and private plans.”Don’t: “Universal health care.”
Do: “Quality affordable health care.”The White House masters of double-speak give the Big Labor thesaurus two thumbs up.
Judas H Priest...CBO: Pelosi plan increases deficits $89 billion in first ten years. Good God Almighty. Another lie. Senate Health Bill Resurrects Publicly Funded Abortions. Another lie for the democramps. One says do and the other says don't. Barack Obama: Breaker of Campaign Promises. More lies? From The One?
[...] Welcome to the presidency, panty-waste. This isn't some community organizer function where you just get a lot of folks to sit around talking over milk and cookies. Being president is a big people job, and the inexperienced, childlike Obama just can't hang. He is in way over his head, and he knows it. [...]
Stop calling him "president", Doug. DAMN!
Some Key Points in The Senate Healthcare Bill
[...] Some points according to the CBO and the Senate Republican Policy Committee:
- Spending: The cost of the bill is $2.5 trillion over 10 years of full implementation (2014-2023).
- Taxes Increases: Taxes will go up $493.6 billion — nearly half a trillion dollars.
- Medicare Cuts: Medicare will be cut $464.6 billion — another half a trillion dollars.
- Government Plan: The bill includes a government run plan and provides states with the possibility of opting out of participating in that plan. According to CBO, the government run plan “would typically have premiums that were somewhat higher than the average premiums for the private plans in the exchanges.”
- Employer Mandate: The bill will impose $28 billion in new taxes on employers that do not provide government approved health plans.
Additional CBO Background:
- The bill would bend the federal cost-curve up.
- 24 million people would be left without insurance.
- States will have to spend an additional $25 billion in Medicaid expenditures
- Taxes on uninsured individuals will total $8 billion.
- Taxes on employers from the “free-rider” penalty would total $28 billion.
- 5 million Americans would lose their employer coverage.
- Only 19 million people will get a subsidy to help them buy health insurance. None of the 162 million people with employer-based care will even be eligible for a subsidy.
- The costs of the subsidies in the exchange would grow at 8 percent a year.
- The tax on high value plans will quickly be applied to almost all plans. CBO expects the revenues from the Cadillac plan tax to grow at 10-15 percent per year outside the budget window.
We are screwed if this thing ever passes the unconstitutional process of ignoring the United States Constitution.

America is out in the mall !!! Not a freakin' soul is listening!
My best guess is we is gonna have a freakin' fight on our hands!
Reid and Company are desparately trying to pass everything under the sun before the 2010 elections because they are already feeling the heat of losing. I guess they figure onced passed that it will be more difficult to un do with the new Congress.
Yes they do have a fight to stay alive and this Bill must fail in 2009 because it will not pass in 2010.
I'm not at the mall, neither are my neighbors. I can't afford to go. They can't afford it either. If I could afford it I'd be at my local gun shop investing in ammunition instead. Not sure what the neighbors are buying but it ain't clothes.
Republicans and Democrats alike aren't listening to us. You have got to ask yourself why.
We already know the answer.
Negative press conferences, negative media "leaks", are always done on Friday to minimize the negative effect because they take advantage of the news cycle. Votes, when it is perceived that the taxpayers will be appalled and pissed off, almost always take place during a weekend session when most of the taxpayers are doing something other than watching them. It is appalling how out of touch they appear to be with mainstream America. I'm guessing their own personal financial future is secured and they are just cowards or sellouts that we have elected and they don't care that they betrayed the people that pay their salaries and who voted them in. I've got to say that there's a lot of us "alpha-males" out here that are perfectly willing to walk into their offices and physically throw them out the window, regardless of what floor they happen to occupy. I'm sick of it. They're killing our country, they're bankrupting all of us, and they're stealing from citizens that can barely afford to survive. They're thieves and traitors and we might as well come to that realization. Our once-great country is NOW controlled by thieves and traitors that are killing her for their own personal benefit. They better start reading some history books to see what has happened to politicians that sold out their country for personal benefit in other places in the past. They're pushing normal citizens that just want to pay fair taxes and live their lives to the limit.
Thieves, crooks and liars...the American Congress.
