Monday, November 9, 2009 at 8:37PM See this post: Half Assed amabO: 30K Troops for Afghanistan
The Imam of Obam in DC says that half-assed Troop Surges are quite alright. Obama. IDIOT. ASSHAT. MORON.
David Martin / CBS News: Obama's Afghan Plan: About 40K More Troops
CBS Exclusive: Sources Say Force Will Grow to 100,000 - Nearly Filling Gen. McChrystal's Request; Long-Term Stay Planned — (CBS) Tonight, after months of conferences with top advisors, President Obama has settled on a new strategy for Afghanistan. [...]
General McChrystal asked for 60,000 additional Troops. Not 40,000. Not 34,000. Not 20,000. Not 10,000. He said 60,000 additional Troops for an Afghan Surge.
Methinks allahpundit has his numbers incorrect seering that I did not see him at Vets On The Hill and never have. He is stating that General McChrystal said he needed 80,000 Troops. That's absurd...he said, 60, 40, 10. Those are the numbers, boss...get over it. The 40,000 means many more body bags and that's the name of the game. And no, allahpundit, the 34,000 additional Troops is NOT a "good thing". That is half of what is needed. Period. This is a half-assed Obama stunt. He's an idiot.
The Lid doesn't get it either. I don't get this "34,000 is almost 40,000" half-assed BS.
Besides, Nobambi hasn't decided yet because he is too interested in unconstitutional global warming or federal health scare to even think about winning the War that we have been fighting for DECADES.

In 1802 Thomas Jefferson, then President of the U.S., founded the United States Military Academy. He did it primarily for one very specific purpose. That was to train military officers to fight and win our nations wars.
In Vietnam we somehow lost that perspective. It became the standard to merely fight the war, not win it.
That philosophy, if that's what you want to call it, still exists.
Our military is saddled with an eviscerated officer corps. There are exceptions to that but only rarely do we see a military officer actually embrace the intestinal fortitude of General George S. Patton who stated; There is only one tactical principle which is not subject to change. It is to use the means at hand to inflict the maximum amount of wound, death, and destruction on the enemy in the minimum amount of time.
Most senior military commanders of today are mostly interested in their careers and will not put it on the line to win a war.
Until such time as our military returns to the concept of winning wars we will continue to have the PC military we see today influenced by politicians who have no place dictating tactics to our field commanders or setting ineffective and retarded rules of engagement that effectively tie our soldiers hands securely behind their backs.
Ask a combat veteran about the ridiculous ROE they have to abide by or risk being prosecuted for what they are trained to do...kill the enemy. Marcus Luttrel comes to mind and Michael Behenna who sits in a military prison in Leavenworth, Kansas.
Until the liberal mind set and political correctness bravo sierra is once and for all done away with we feed our own demise.
AMEN Dean!
