Obama, Nobel and No Teleprompter
Thu, December 10, 2009 at 8:13 I watched this morning Obama getting his Nobel this morning, well at keast the speech for it, and the idiot PM of Norway was rambling on about the myth of global warming - you know, where all the climate deniers are at - and then The One was asked about his premature Peace Prize. I could hardly believe someone asked that question. Weren't the press people briefed on asking such, such, such STUPID questions?
Obama's facial expressions say it all...WHERE'S MY TELEPROMPTER! Obama. Asshat.
Press to Obama: How do you like your premature Nobel?
Apparently, the press has finally caught on to the fact that President Obama hasn’t done much other than breathe to qualify for the Nobel Peace Prize. In an unexpected moment of humility — from a man who canceled a lunch with the king of his host country — Obama agreed with them, for a moment, at least. [...]
Humility? Come on, Ed. Humility? Judas H Priest, Ed. I didn't see any humility there. I saw hate and discontent that someone asked the question as he rambled on about America but, at least he didn't bow to the King. Humility. Was that humility that he declined the offer from the King of Norway?
Michelle Malkin: Happy National Post-Achievement Day!
All one really needs to know about from the Nobel fiasco.
[...] I receive this honor with deep gratitude and great humility. It is an award that speaks to our highest aspirations – that for all the cruelty and hardship of our world, we are not mere prisoners of fate. Our actions matter, and can bend history in the direction of justice.
And yet I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the considerable controversy that your generous decision has generated. In part, this is because I am at the beginning, and not the end, of my labors on the world stage. Compared to some of the giants of history who have received this prize – Schweitzer and King; Marshall and Mandela – my accomplishments are slight. [...]
No humility there, Ed. Just flat out embarrassment. Just remember, the Nobel POS Prize is no longer a matter of eligibilty or accomplishment. The Nobel POS Prize these days is something for an act of dumb.

Jim Hoft: Shocker… Obama Bashes America During Nobel Acceptance Speech
[...] And, of course, Obama also bashed America during his acceptance speech.
Here’s the transcript of Obama’s Nobel speech.
…The world rallied around America after the 9/11 attacks, and continues to support our efforts in Afghanistan, because of the horror of those senseless attacks and the recognized principle of self-defense. Likewise, the world recognized the need to confront Saddam Hussein when he invaded Kuwait — a consensus that sent a clear message to all about the cost of aggression.
Furthermore, America cannot insist that others follow the rules of the road if we refuse to follow them ourselves. For when we dont, our action can appear arbitrary, and undercut the legitimacy of future intervention — no matter how justified.
This becomes particularly important when the purpose of military action extends beyond self-defense or the defense of one nation against an aggressor…
No wonder they love him in Europe. [...]

Now, Obama DID have a teleprompter when giving the speech but the question and answer period is where he didn't have a teleprompter...

Obama's surprising Nobel speech
[...] Defending the use of force and reminding the Norwegians that peaceful means didn't save them from the Nazis. Growth in office, or triangulation? [...]
We'll call that triangulation because after all his approval numbers have been dropping like a rock...not that he cares TOO much about that at all. He doesn't care about our Nation or anyone else's plain and simple. He is all about switching the USA to some community organizers CF.
I was correct: Quote of the Day Begets Quote of the Day
Ed Driscoll, noting the Obama Administration's employment of Smart Diplomacy against the Norwegians, let fly with:
I thought he was the tautology he’s been waiting for.
AMEN!
