There Goes The ReidCoCare Unconstitutional Bribe Deal
Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 3:00PM Ben Nelson May Give Back Health Care Bribe
Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson, who has faced a heap of criticism for appearing to trade his vote on health care for millions in federal Medicaid money, said he's considering asking that the Nebraska deal be stripped from the bill. But he said other senators are looking for special treatment in light of his success. [...]
Via Fox News: Nelson Says More Senators Seeking Special Treatment in Light of Nebraska Deal
OOPSIES! So, the flake "blue dog nothing" started this "crisis". Idiot. Bribery, or, you know, "sweeteners". Throw the lot of them in jail. Throw the key away. Let them grow their food in their cell blocks.
[...] Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson, after securing a sweetheart deal for his state as part of the health insurance reform bill, said Tuesday that three other senators have told him they want to bargain for the same kind of special treatment.
"Three senators came up to me just now on the (Senate) floor, and said, 'Now we understand what you did. We'll be seeking this funding too'," Nelson said.
But the Democratic senator, who has faced a heap of criticism for appearing to trade his vote on health care for millions in federal Medicaid money, said he's considering asking that the Nebraska deal be stripped from the bill. [...]

Greg Sargent / The Plum Line: Top House Liberal Suggests He Could Accept Deal On Senate Bill
More bribery...
In a sign that House liberals may be bracing to swallow much of the Senate bill with minimal changes, a key House progressive suggested in an interview with me that he might be able to support a bill without a public component, if the coverage in the bill were to kick in earlier than it currently does in the Senate proposal.
Rep Raul Grijalva, who as co-chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus is well respected by liberals, acknowledged the potential for supporting the bill under these conditions, making public what House aides have only said privately until now.
Grijalva cautioned, however, that House liberals would continue fighting for some kind of public component and would have trouble supporting the bill unless they were handed some kind of victory.
In the inteview, Grijalva confirmed that House Dems were beginning to discuss the idea of revising the Senate bill in conference to move up the implementation date for insurance coverage and make it more in line with the earlier date in the House bill.
I asked Grijalva if he could support the bill if such a change were made, even if it lacked a public option or other similar concessions sought by liberals.
“It would sweeten it somewhat,” Grijalva said, “if they speed up the coverage mechanism.”
He added: “That would be something I’d have to look at very closely.” [...]
Disgusting. Sweeteners. Bribery. Thuggery. Unconstitutional ASSHATS! In the meanwhile, while the GOP is willing to "step up to the punching bag", we have this?
Old GOP message: “We’re going to fight to the finish line;” New GOP message: “Let’s go home”
[...] He told Sean’s guest host at the end of an obligatory-sounding critique of Harry Reid that, and I quote, “We’re going to fight ‘em all the way to the finish line.”
That’s what he said:
“We’re going to fight ‘em all the way to the finish line.”
Before the cloture vote on sneaky Sunday, Sen. John McCain had sounded the same message with more energy, invoking John Paul Jones and vowing: “We have not yet begun to fight.”
Well, the fight’s been called off. [...]
GOOD JOB! Let's fight until I have CHRISTMAS presents to wrap and whatever! Seeing that this particular Congress and many more before them have stated time and time again, and, against the USC and according to some nitwit someplace, there is Separation of Church and State. So, shouldn't they stay and fight on and on and on? Nelson is giving it up, or, for the Obamedia's sake anyway. Stupak says no way. Many more are waiting for more special sweeteners.
Why doesn't the entire Congress just flat out resign? I am way passed fighting to settle. You?
[...] My Christmas wish for 2010: A new generation of conservative leaders who will walk the “fight ‘em to the finish line” talk — fighting to win, not fighting to settle. [END]
From The Hill: Final Senate healthcare vote set for 8 a.m. on Christmas Eve
[...] The Senate will hold a final vote on healthcare reform at 8 a.m. on Christmas Eve.
Under Senate rules, the GOP could have insisted that the vote not occur until 7 p.m. but Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) took to the Senate floor Tuesday afternoon to announce an agreement that allows senators to depart Washington sooner to begin the Christmas holiday.
The 60 members of the Democratic caucus have united twice on procedural votes to advance the legislation, meaning passage is all but assured Thursday. On Wednesday, the Senate will hold a cloture vote to end debate on the bill, setting up final action. [...]

I don't know what these Republican senators need to make them see that "taking the high road" on any issue with these bums in the majority will never work. They continue to bring a knife to a gunfight. Durbin is calling out a colleague on the senate floor pretending he thought he meant he wanted someone to get hurt? Stuart Smally Franken, after stealing an election to get into office, violates protocol and "comity" on the floor, Massachusetts Democrats overturn their own law just to get a Democrat to vote for the bill. Reid ignores senate rules, nevermind the majority ignoring the Constitution and the wishes of the people so they can jam legislation down the throat of the people for their own power grab. They HIDE a bill, refuse to allow Republicans in on the writing of it, HIDE it from the people, use blue dogs as whores using taxpayer money to throw on the bed while insulting taxpayers from all the other states in the Union. This bill is SO BAD for everyone that it could only pass cloture by BRIBING majority members. When have we ever seen anything like that? If they're not up for the fight, if they can't recognize what kind of people their colleagues really are, then we'll have to find some fresh meat to fight for us the way we want them to.
Absolutely. However, I am ready for a scrap. Did you see my soon-to-be Christmas present I loaded?
Snooper: No I did not. Point me in the right direction!
