If My People ... Will Humble Themselves

2 Chronicles 7:14 (take heed)

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Years ago, very important information was read into the Congressional Record which came to be called The List of 45.  In that list, we find an interesting entry:

27) Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."

A very intuitive individual has created a video which, in my opinion is a work of art.

Powerful rendition of the List of 45 indeed.

What has become of the Traditional American Christian? Are they to blame for the current ho-hum "why can't we all get along with each other" silliness? I think so.

Why is it that some Christians say that smoking is bad, ie a sin, but growing tobacco, thus supplying the tool or the material of which to commit that "sin" of smoking, is not a sin? There are many such examples but I will not get into these. The subject and point of this article is to expose the "socialization" of Christianity, especially within the United States.

Some Christians say that this Scripture verse,

"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." (Hebrews 10:25)

means that you must attend a "church" in order to be a "good Christian". I consider that conclusion as balderdash. I can "assemble with others" in other ways and means. If I were to accept that, than I was a horrid Christian "in the field" in my duties to this Nation. I didn't see any "churches" to attend "faithfully" out in the sandboxes.

Josh Allem, in a phone conversation, made the following analogy along this train of thought and, I paraphrase, "That's like saying you can't watch a movie without going to a movie theatre. If you don't go to a movie theatre, you didn't watch the movie?" Sounds crazy, doesn't it? That's because it is.

Many years ago, I was informed thusly:

Is not going to church a willful sin? That isn't the point of this passage, exactly. The warning is that those who don't attend regularly could be and are likely to be ensnared by sin. This happens very often. With the sporadic and inconsistant attendance they can become weakened. It indicates  a lack of correctly made priorities not worshipping God with their brethren.  So, due to the fact that they do not have the kingdom of God first in their lives, they are easily distracted and easily deceived by the world.

Again, balderdash. I suppose the Bible that I carried with me at all times that I read "religiously" out "in the field" to maintain my "Faith", sanity, dignity and dispense with the "feeling" of dire isolation and abandonment was all for naught. I didn't have the "Kingdom of God" first in my life? I didn't continually recite and read these words?

He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. (Psalm 46: 9-11)

Was not I "assembling" myself with THE Church? Do I have to be under an organized tutelage?

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:24-29)

I have no problems with people that go to a physical building to worship but I do have a problem with the people that "go to church" telling others that "not assembling" is bad, evil or otherwise. This, I call the socialization of Christianity.

Time and time again I hear in the news and in casual conversations the watered down Christianity in this Nation and that is the very root and cause of today's Christian Social Networks. Christians are afraid and/or embarrassed of and for their "faith" because it is politically incorrect to place your Faith in God and not placing your Trust in Man.

Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. (Psalm 146:3)

"Man" is our destruction. Look around you. Christians stayed home during the last election cycle because their "assemblies" were dumb, stupid and ignorant of the battles being waged in this Nation.

The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.

All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them. (Psalm 118: 7-10)

All of these verses of Scripture I took into combat and "potential" combat environments. I "assembled" myself with my Lord and Saviour and I didn't need a building full of people around me to "be still" and know that God was God.

I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.

And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith. (Habakkuk 2:1-4)

The just shall live by his faith. America's "faithful" have been taken in by political correctness, multi-culturalism and identity politics. This needs to be "torn asunder" before our Nation can be healed.

I spent many a cold night and hot day "standing on my watch", alone, isolated, out of touch, as close to being abandoned as it could come, talking with my God. Forgive me for not "assembling".

Read 2 Chronicle 7:14 again, and again, and again, and again until it is burned into your minds eye which, by the way, is your heart.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
