Obama Needs A New Pentagon Meme

Poor Czarbie.  The fraud just can't get a break.  I wonder why that is.  Aren't we suppossed to just "give him a chance"?

As we on the Right have been saying for nearly forever in internet time, Obama's rhetoric was pure appeasment rhetoric aimed at and geared towards the emotionally driven people that have as much collective intelligence as a gnat turd.

Obama must continue with that damnedable Bush Doctrine in Afghanistan and at Club Gitmo.  I would laugh if there was something to laugh about.

Afghanistan: "Obama backs Bush policy on detainees' rights" (emphasis added)

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Obama sided with the Bush administration Friday, saying detainees in Afghanistan have no constitutional rights.

In a two-sentence court filing, the Justice Department said it agreed that detainees at Bagram Airfield cannot use U.S. courts to challenge their detention. The filing shocked human rights attorneys.

"The hope we all had in President Obama to lead us on a different path has not turned out as we'd hoped," said Tina Monshipour Foster, a human rights attorney representing a detainee at the Bagram Airfield. "We all expected better."

The Supreme Court last summer gave al-Qaeda and Taliban suspects held at the U.S. naval base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the right to challenge their detention. With about 600 detainees at Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan and thousands more held in Iraq, courts are grappling with whether they, too, can sue to be released.

After Obama took office, a federal judge in Washington gave the new administration a month to decide whether it wanted to stand by Bush's legal argument. Justice Department spokesman Dean Boyd says the filing speaks for itself. [...]

Is it my imagination or didn't Obama and his ilk declare that everyone in the world falls under the United States Constitution?  What happened?

The article goes on to "spin" the reason(s).  Afghanistan is an "overseas" operation and US Constitutional Law does not extend outside our borders.  Amazing.  So, Guantanamo Bay is what? Is not Club Gitmo an "overseas" operation?  Indeed it is.

What the article and the repost fail to make note of is the following.  The United States Constitution extends to and applies to American Citizens only.  And that fact is all too plainly obvious by the very verbiage contained in the US Constitution.  No where in that Founding Document does it state that the entire world is governed by the document written as a contract between the American government and her people and no one else.  That Truth cause the American Liberal much heartache and sleepless nights.  Perhaps that explains the mental disability of your basic American Liberal...sleep deprivation.

Club Gitmo has been called Obama's Gitmo now.  Like MataHarley at Flopping Aces says: "So how about we ship ‘em all to Bagram and end the Gitmo argument?"  Sounds good to me seeing that the EO Obama issues to close Gitmo is in fact blowing up in his face.  No one will accept the "detainees" (terrorists) and US Courts have said "thou shalt not bring them here either".  Ship them to A-stan Land and be done with it.

In other news, "Pentagon Report Concludes Guantanamo Detainees Treated Humanely", with the subtitle of "The 85-page report by Adm. Patrick M. Walsh, the Navy's second in command, was written in response to Obama's Jan. 22 executive order to close the facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba within a year."

Say it isn't so!  Obama needs another Pentagon.

WASHINGTON -- The Pentagon says the Guantanamo Bay prison meets the standard for humane treatment laid out in the Geneva Conventions, according to a report for President Barack Obama, who has ordered the terrorist detention center closed within a year.

The report recommended some changes, including an increase in group recreation for some of the camp's more dangerous or less compliant prisoners, according to a government official familiar with the study. The report also suggested allowing those prisoners to gather in groups of three or more, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the report has not officially been released. [...]

Damn the luck!  There goes that argument!  Obama's Team said it so it MUST be true.  I can hardly wait for the fallout to begin.

[...] The report found the camp to be in compliance with the Geneva Conventions Common Article 3, the international rules that require the humane treatment of prisoners taken in unconventional armed conflicts, like the war on terrorism. The camp's controversial force-feeding of prisoners on hunger strikes was also found to be compliant with the Geneva guidelines, a second government official confirmed. [...]

Perhaps this will make a good cause for the Leftinistra to actually read the Geneva Convention as most of us have.  Naturally, an intelligent opinion based on fact always trumps the emotional drivel of a prattling neurotic mess.  Well, at least in the mind's eye of a rational individual anyway.

Ace asks a question and then doesn't wait for a moonbat reply: "When does the military’s compliance with international law qualify as bad news? When you’re a new president desperate for excuses to follow through on a dopey campaign promise that’ll please your nutroots base and no one else."

Indeed.  Obama was good at making fools of his supporters and now he spits in their eyes.  "I won" takes on a whole new meaning in this regard, does it not?  It won't surprise me in the least if the Democrats and those that slit their wrists by the polls will ignore the Gallup finding.  The Gallup poll reveals that the majority of Americans want Gitmo to remain as is but Gallup says they "found no clear mandate".  Since when is a 10-point spread in polling not a mandate?

Did I mention the Rendition Program?  Obama is continuing with that as well.  Can we call Obama a fraud yet and not get classified as a racist?  While the "racism" thing came up, did you hear that if you are a GOP Governor and refuse Federal Take Over Your State Funds that you are a racist?  That will be covered in another post.

The answer is that no law makes such an express authorization. The district court pointed to Boumediene v. Bush, but that case only gives federal courts habeas jurisdiction of Guantanamo Bay detainees. It does not purport to allow the courts to fashion novel remedies for unlawful detention. The point is that the military must release them, but nothing gives the district courts authority to order that release be in the United States.

And there’s another problem. Following the district court’s decision, the White House announced that the Uighurs would be a security risk if released into the United States. The nature of the specific risk hasn’t been disclosed.
