GOVERNMENT WITHHOLDS EVIDENCE; SOLDIER GOES TO PRISON FOR 25 YEARS FOR SHOOTING AL QAEDA OPERATIVE
Sound familiar? Murtha must be proud.
The Story ...
On March 20th, 2009, 1st Lieutenant Michael Behenna was sentenced to 25 years in prison for killing a known Al Qaeda operative while serving in Iraq. The “victim”, Ali Mansur, was known to be a member of an Al Qaeda cell operating in the lieutenant’s area of operation, and was suspected to have organized an attack on Lt. Behenna’s platoon in April 2008 which killed two U.S. soldiers and injured two more. Army intelligence ordered the release of Mansur and Lt. Behenna was ordered to return the terrorist to his home.
During the return of Mansur, Lt. Behenna again questionedthe Al Qaeda member for information about other members of the terrorist cell, and financial supporters. During this interrogation, Mansur attacked Lt. Behenna, who killed the terrorist in self-defense. The government subsequently prosecuted Lt. Behenna for premeditated murder.
Not only is this a miscarriage of justice on the behalf of Lt. Behenna, who was acting to prevent further loss of life in his platoon, it is demoralizing to the U.S. troops who continue to fight on behalf of the freedom and security of our nation. Whether it is U.S. border patrol agents, members of the armed forces, or FBI agents, no individual who is serving on the frontlines in the War on Terror should be so blatantly mistreated.
We urgently need your help to correct this terrible wrong against a loyal and faithful soldier. Please contact your congressman and ask them to intervene on behalf of 1LT Behenna. Below is a brief recap of the relevant aspects of Lt. Behenna’s case.

After reading the evidence I find it peculiar that his conviction was based on shabby forensics. The claim that Lt. Behenna shot the terrorist while sitting doesn't make sense if the bullet passed through this turd and impacted the wall behind him.
Craters in the wall indicate a horizontal trajectory and not a downward trajectory as it would have been with the dead haji sitting and the shooter standing.
Makes absolutely no friggin sense to me.
Friggin libtard' JAG bastards.
Ya know, Snooper, when I heard this yesterday, I almost couldn't believe it. WTH????????????
I am going to post this and link to you...and yes, I will be getting on this one. We CANNOT allow this to happen again.
The insanity continues...
Go for it brat!
Lt Wm Calley of the murder of 22 unarmed Vietnam civilians and sentenced to life in prison, but that was commuted to 3 years, house arrest by Pres Nixon. Orders came down to Calley and many others to virtually wipe 3 not 1 villege. Calley was the fall man; the only one convicted of murder. One person out of two entire Army Companies was convicted. Granted, he did kill people in My Lia, but so did others. They probably evan killed Viet Cong or their sympathizers. It all boiled down to convicting that one man. Someone had to pay for making the "Army" look so "bad".
There is the similiarity between Lt Calley's case and 1Lt Michael Behenna's case. Someone wants 1Lt Behenna to pay for the bad publicity brought on the Army. In this case the evidence (alledgely) shows he killed the victim (?) in self defense. I nagree with all of you who are backing Lt Behenna defense. The Military law works somewhat differently than civilian law. The Military follows the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). You are not nessasarillly considered innocent before proven guilty. Public opinion can influence the political arena. Yes, everyone needs to send letters and many petitions need to go to the Congressional Legisture and the Senate and even to the President. I am former Army from the Vietnam era. I believe that we must not allow the political people and the press to run our wars. We cannot stop them from giving their opinions, writing editorals and giving speeches, but we don't have to allow them to force the way our soldiers follow their leaders' orders.
When a person, such as Lt Behenna, does his job and is fighting for his life and our way of life, do not politolize the way he did his job. He did not kill that man as a terrorist, but as an attacker to his person. He used deadly force because it was required. Don't make this war more difficult than it already is.
