Giving the results we have seen to this point that the policies now being set into place are having the oposite effect from the stated intent, I would prefer those failed economic policies that resulted in nearly 60 consecutive months of economic growth that Obama said were failed policies. If economic growth is not Obama's idea of progress, I'll take the failed policies that run contrary to progressivism.
I wonder if Obama thinks failure is progress. If that is the case, the case for progessivism is not a very attractive venture.
Take the auto industry for example. Now that the federal government has meddled into an area forbidden by the United States Constitution and has totally screwed it up worse than it was, GM and Chrysler are now bleeding dealerships across the nation which reports say will end almost 200,000 jobs. Isn't that the exact OPPOSITE of what Obama said he was going to do? Chrysler is said to be closing approximately 800 dealerships and GM will be closing in excess of 1100 dealerships. Good job, Obama. Idiot. That's progress? Progress towards what, exactly?
He said that he was going to grow jobs and so far, about 25 have been created and about 600,000 have been lost. Add to that number of lost jobs, the auto industry will get that jobs lost issue of Obama close to 1,000,000 jobs lost. Someone please explain to me how that is even remotely "progressive".
I keep getting routed to Quinn's First Law:
"Liberalism always generates the exact opposite of its stated intent."
Yep. Obama's failed economic policies are so much better than GWB's...only if the influx of cilicybin is rampant.
Good question and, if they did, I bet they won't make that bad-ass mistake again. As for folks that may have voted for Obama before he proved he was what we said he was - a fraud and a communist hack - I bet the folks at Caterpillar won't be voting for him next time either.
It seems to me that it would have been better for the nation if billions of unconstitutionally spent money to keep the auto industry had not been spent and let Free Markets take its normal path of self-correcting. The unions destroyed the industry and doubting that reveals a mental midget's reasoning powers of discernment.
