War Warning: North Korea v South Korea
Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 12:55AM
It isn't really a war warning seeing the two nation-states have been at war officially since 1950. The war was never officially declared over and neither side signed an armistice nor did either side declare or sue for peace. What did happen was both sides agreed to a cease-fire just like Iraq did in the alleged cease-fire in 1991.
As was the case with Iraq, North and South Korea have been taking pot-shots at each other since 1953 after the alleged cease-fire with the NORKS digging tunnels under the DMZ for over 50 years with incursions into the South. Incidently, the Korean War, the first "police action" of the United Nations, was the very first outing of the recently formed organization and proved to be a dismal failure. In some way, the United Nations thought that they did something good for the world and kept up the same failed policies and procedures of the Korean War and applied those same failed dismal failures in every situation they have been involved with ever since. Hence, we have the situation today.
Michelle Malkin posted an article from Breitbart describing the escalation of the war machine north of the 38th parallel, the official DMZ between North and South Korea. Obama has stated that he will disarm the nuclear countries and Iran and North Korea aren't going along to get along. In escence, North Korea has declared war on South Korea and put them on notice. And that is why Japan is now considering changing their pacifist constitution they adopted after WWII and opting for a more modern "adjustment". We call that a constitutional amendment over here in the USA (so do the Japanese) and Japn is doing this because they cannot rely on the pacifist and "without preconditions" Obama. Japan knows all too well what North Korea is all about seeing that the Japanese are in fact descendents of Korea. Just don't tell either in public, OK? It is a skeleton in their family closets.
The Breitbart article is the usual news piece and Michelle's article brings up the duly noted and appropriate sarcasm.
Joe Biden said our unseasoned Dear Leader would soon be tested. The time is here and now. North Korea has abandoned a 1953 ceasefire and is preparing the peninsula for war in the wake of South Korea’s decision to side with an anti-proliferation coalition led by the U.S.
Wonder if that red phone woke him and Hillary up yet. Brrrrrr–ing. Brrrr–ing: [...]
Michelle excerpts portions of the article and also reminds us of the 3AM phone calls and even posts the video from February 2008.
So much for Barack's backwards thinking of that anti-proliferation/United Nations international embarrassment. The only nations that are actually participating in that debacle and waste of mostly American dollars are nation-states that strongly desire peace. Do your own research and determine for yourselves which peaceful nations are actually participating and which other types of nation states are not. You will be amazed, as I was. I didn't know it was that bad, actually. I always knew it was a waste of time and effort when striking the offenders swiftly and permanently would have more lasting results in the long run. Chalk this operation as yet one more in a long list of United Nations dismal failure.
And, the Leftinistra the world over thinks the UN is just fine and the greatest thing since abortion?
I am sure that Obama and the UN will work together in drafting a very stern letter to the arbiters of war and war mongering - the very people the Conservatives have warned the world about for decades.
Knock. Knock.
