Apparently, the "progressive movement", akin to a vapid bowel movement has emitted such horrendous odors, folks are rebelling in a large way. When the Democrats which had power in the NY State Senate for 5 months loses it so quickly, there is hope for all. The libocrats were so happy about siezing control and apparently thought they had the alleged and elusive mandate they claimed.
It seems as though it nearly got to fistycuffs on the NY Senate floor! GO GO GO CONSERVATIVES! The Anchoress has more.

Sic vis pacem para bellum
[...] This is one of the more surprising events to occur in Albany in a long time, and that's saying something. Two Democrats, annoyed with the way that Senate Democrats have run things since they gained control of the chamber in January.
If the name Hiram Monserrate sounds familiar, it's because he was indicted on assaulting his girlfriend earlier this year and has been accused of similar acts in the past. Pedro Espada and Dean Skelos will be in a power sharing arrangement through the end of the year, but don't expect Senate Democrats to sit back and accept this situation.
In any event, consider this Tom Golisano's parting shot to state politics. He's already declared that he's leaving New York for a more tax friendly Florida, but he's financed candidates around the state. We'll see what the Democrats have in mind to combat this changed circumstance. [END]
Paterson Goes Ballistic: I'm Here To Stand Up For Democracy
[...] During the coup, Democrats fled the chamber, turned out the lights, and cut off the Internet feed of chamber proceedings, leaving Republicans and their two Democratic friends to take the vote in the dark. [...]
[...] "I should be standing here talking to you about the issues that the people need Albany to address. Once again Albany's dysfunction has raised its ugly head," Paterson said. "I came here today to stand up for everyone in this state who still believes in a democracy -- that there are perimeters in which we govern, that Albany can be more than the dysfunctional wreck it has become over the years. And I don't care if the only one standing, but someone has got to stand up and say that this is wrong. [...]
One more politician that is standing up to defend Mob Rule, is Democracy. What a moron.
