Michelle Malkin: Sen. Edward Kennedy has died
The U.S. Senator from Massachusetts succumbed to brain cancer at the age of 77 tonight. Put aside your ideological differences for an appropriate moment and mark this passing with solemnity.
There is a time and place for political analysis and criticism. Not now.
Yes, there will be a nauseating excess of MSM hagiographies and lionizations — and crass calls to pass the health care takeover to memorialize his death.
That’s no excuse to demonstrate the same lack of restraint in the other direction. Not now. [...]
The Anchoress: Ted Kennedy, Healthcare & Purgatory
[...] Thankfully, God knows more, and sees more, than the rest of us, because eventually we’ll all need to count on his mercy, as we face his justice. For all that we know of Kennedy, there is much we do not know. A family member who works with the very poor once told me that when he was in a real fix and unable to find help for, for instance, a sick child in need of surgery, a phone call to Kennedy’s office would set the “Irish Mafia” of professional people -doctors, lawyers, pilots and such- into brisk motion. I think an examination of the life of every “great” person (and I mean “great” in terms of power and influence) will expose deep flaws and surprising episodes of generosity. [...]
Douglas V Gibbs: Senator Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts Dies
Dead at 77, Teddy Kennedy now joins his brothers, President John F. Kennedy and Senator Robert F. Kennedy, who were felled by assassins’ bullets in their 40s.
Mr. Kennedy served 46 years in the U.S. Senate, and is probably one of the most recognizable names in politics when it comes to Democrats in the Senate. Mr. Kennedy’s diagnosis of a lethal brain tumor did not slow him down. He continued his duties as U.S. Senator, and though I disagreed with his political positions, I respect his longevity, and determination.
The memory of Edward Kennedy's legacy in the Democratic Party will no doubt outlive many of us. [...]
Citizen Sarah Palin released this statement:
I would like to extend our sympathies to the Kennedy family as we hear word about the passing of Senator Ted Kennedy. He believed in our country and fought passionately for his convictions. - Sarah Palin and family

lawhawk: The Passing of Sen. Edward Kennedy
Sen. Edward Kennedy passed away last night at the age of 77 from the brain cancer that was diagnosed last year. He was the last surviving member of the Kennedy clan that shaped the political landscape of the 1960s. He outlived his two brothers, John and Robert, each of whom was assassinated. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. [...]

Macsmind: Ted Kennedy - The Lying of the Senate - RIP
For dying of cancer I have great sympathy, as I too have had a few family members fall victim as well. But let’s not mark him a “hero” either. Ted Kennedy’s “legacy” was forever formalized on July 18th, 1969, when while driving drunk he drove off a bridge and saving himself, he let Mary Jo Kopechne to die a horrible death by drowning. Then even after this he lied about the circumstances only coming clean after it was clear he was in the wrong. [...] go read the rest
Sorry, Ted! SOmetimes I wonder just how he got off on that accident.
Political Vindication: Ted Kennedy; American Traitor
I know that we’re all supposed be saying kind words about the recently deceased Ted Kennedy, and I pray for God’s fair judgment, but there must be some context to the man’s political career. And while the mainstream media will be highlighting his supposed contributions to American politics, I think it’s important to note his greatest failures which will always over shadow his years in the Senate. In particular, how he chose to side with America’s greatest enemy, the Soviet Union in the 1980’s. The Free Republic has the details… [...]
One thing in particular was siding with the KGB to sideline Ronald Reagan.
