Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 11:45AM More news is here: FINAL VOTE RESULTS FOR ROLL CALL 718
345 votes Aye - 75 voted No - 2 voted PRESENT and 11 voted, um, not voting.
Looks like ACORN is defunded. I'll believe when I see it.
From Big Government:
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) offered the Defund-ACORN bill to the Student Loans bill. The House vote convincingly to cut ALL federal funds to ACORN.
Vote: 345 to 75. Complete results here.
Anyway, this looks like just for student loans but...we'll see.

Big Government has the text: Bobmbshell: House Amends Bill with ‘Defund ACORN Act’ – Full Text
Looks like ACORN is defunded.
Big Government has obtained the full text of the amendment–technically a “motion to recommit” to defund ACORN. The “Defund ACORN Act” passed the House this afternoon by an overwhelming margin of 345-75. The House vote comes just days after the Senate voted 83-7 to block ACORN from receiving federal housing grants. With these votes, 80% of the members of Congress have weighed in to block ACORN from receiving any more taxpayer dollars.

Michelle Malkin: Triple-snort-worthy: White House “distances” itself from ACORN
[...] He IS ACORN. And ACORN is him. The “accountability” that White House flack Robert Gibbs says they take “extremely seriously” doesn’t extend to Team Obama itself — and the accountability they have evaded for pouring more than $800,000 into an ACORN front group for campaign advance work that was mysteriously re-classified as “get-out-the-vote” work. [...]
I don't even know if I could get a snort off of this. White Marxist House distances itself from ACORN. I wonder how THAT would work out.

Who came up with that great tagline in your banner?
Oh yeah! SonlitKnight did!
AND?
As far as I'm concerned this step is necessary yet incomplete. ACORN is a non-profit organization that has been allowed to work for one political party for years. Where the hell has been the outrage prior to this? What kind of pansies do we have in Congress that would allow this? Are they afraid of being called racists? Too Bad. Grow some balls, do your job, and go after them with everything you've got. Do we need Michelle Bachmann or Sarah Palin to do everything? Grow some balls and get rid of them once and for all.
VOTE THEM ALL OUT!
