Newsflash to Polanski apologists:
1) Statutory rape is the people's recognition that children cannot give consent to sex;
2) there is no "statute of limitations" on felonies; and
3) there is no "celebrity" exception to the Rule of Law.

The idea that we should tolerate evil is not from how society actually works. It is a fantasy created in movies and TV. Let me ask this question about child victims of rape; Have they forgotten about it after 20 years and does it no longer effect how they trust people or what they fear? If the answer is that it still effects them than 20 years is not even a long enough punishment.
As far as I know there is no statute of limitations on this crime so it doesn't matter how long it takes. The slob should have stayed out of Zurich if he wanted to get away with anything.
