The student, Demin Zawity, of Brentwood, Tenn., quit the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Ravenwood High School and returned to regular gym classes when commanding officers said she had to take off her hijab if she wanted to march in the homecoming parade. "It was during Spirit Week. We were getting ready for the homecoming parade and the head officer said that I wouldn't be able to wear the head scarf while I had the uniform on," Demin said. "I said that it was a religious thing and that I really couldn't take it off.” Demin said she asked the officer if an exception could be made, and “ he told me that he would see what he can do." But school officials and district lawyers determined that if Demin wanted to participate; she would have to comply with the rules.

[R]e[z]ident Obama announced Friday that all U.S. forces will be withdrawn from Iraq by the end of 2011.

The [r]e[z]ident spoke at about 12:45 p.m. EDT after completing a secure video conference with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.

"This will allow us to say definitively that the Iraq war is over, and that the partnership between the U.S. and Iraq will be a normal one between two sovereign nations," a White House official said. "During their conversation, [R]e[z]ident Obama and PM Maliki strongly agreed that this is the best way forward for both countries."

He says drawdown needs to be done in a way that doesn't threaten security. "Here's my fear, my fear is that if the pull out happens too fast, Iran and their surrogates are going to come in there and take over and start exerting influence and creating havoc for us.....Look, I respect what the [R]e[z]ident is trying to do, we would all like to see an end to our engagement there or a narrowing of it, but let's do it in a way that's smart and that doesn't threaten our security."

Liberals counseled withdrawal. Most conservatives believed this would have led to another Vietnam-like defeat for the USA, with similar economic and security consequences. Then-President Bush decided instead to surge forces and implement a counterinsurgency strategy aimed at establishing security. "mister" Obama, just after passing the second anniversary of his entry in the U.S. Senate, said, “I have been a consistent and strong opponent of this war.” He also assessed of the surge that “I cannot in good conscience support this escalation. It is a policy which has already been tried and a policy which has failed.”

“This week, we had two powerful reminders of how we’ve renewed American leadership in the world,” Obama declared in the brief, pre-recorded statement distributed via radio, TV and the White House web site. “I was proud to announce that - as promised - the rest of our troops in Iraq will come home by the end of this year. And in Libya, the death of Muammar Qadhafi showed that our role in protecting the Libya people, and helping them break free from a tyrant, was the right thing to do.”

I want the Troops home as well but not for the reasons this upstart maroon wants.  Leave it to the Leftinistra at the USELESS Politico to glorify an unconstitutional dickhead like D'ohBama.

Saturday’s noisy protest took place outside the wrought iron gates of the White House.

“We want President Obama to hear us,” said Rendell, a former Democratic Party chairman.

Obama left the White House for the drive to Andrews Air Force Base in suburban Maryland to play golf as the demonstration began, and it’s not clear if he heard any of it.

Bachmann: US Was 'Kicked Out' Of Iraq; Withdrawing Troops a Political Decision By 'Gen. Axelrod'

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) wants Iraq to pay America back for the war effort that overthrew Saddam Hussein but also dragged on for nine years.

"I believe that Iraq should reimburse the United States fully for the amount of money we've spent to liberate these people," the presidential candidate said on CBS's "Face the Nation."

"They're not a poor country, they're a wealthy country," Bachmann said.

Obama is a PUSSY.

Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann on Sunday joined the chorus of GOP contenders lambasting President Obama for his decision to withdraw nearly all troops from Iraq by the end of the year. She contended that the United States had been "kicked out" of the country "by the very people we liberated," and that the decision was "more politically-based than military-based."

Bachmann, in an appearance on CBS' "Face the Nation," said it would be unwise to withdraw troops from the country while its political status remained tenuous, and argued that "if you look at every time we have deposed a dictator, the United States has always left troops behind to be able to enforce the fragile peace."

Like I said.  Obama is a PUSSY.

Cheney: Obama Threatens Military Gains By Pulling Out Of Iraq Too Soon --- Former Vice President Dick Cheney said Tuesday that President Obama is imperiling gains made in Iraq by pulling out troops too quickly. Cheney said he envisioned the U.S. having a substantial long-term military presence in Iraq to act as a stabilizing force in the region, drawing comparisons to Japan, Germany and South Korea.
