A 31-year-old Chicago man has been charged with attempted arson and harassment of a witness after he allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail through the drive-thru window of a West Side Burger King Saturday afternoon.
Michael Tucker, of the 4200 block of West Kamerling Avenue, was held on $450,000 bond today after appearing in bond court.
The incident happened at the Burger King at 3943 W. Chicago Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. A surveillance camera captured the attempted arson, records show, and police apprehended Tucker blocks away as he was walking toward his car. No information was available as to what led up to the incident.
After the incident, Tucker allegedly followed a 52-year-old witness home, saying to her: "I told you to get back in your car and drive away," police records show.
A worker who answered the phone at Burger King said today that the fast food restaurant did not undergo major damage.
