Sweetness and Light has a very good rendition categorizing the Rapture against Global Warming and I suppose that God felt that Global Warming needed some more heat and that's why the Rapture did not take place. JUST KIDDING!
From the Not-So-Timey-Time Ragazine:
In a comfortable office, Bible placed firmly atop his lap, 89-year-old Harold Camping is preaching with utter certainty about the end of the world. "May 21, 2011, is the day of judgment," he says with conviction, in a YouTube video posted last year. "It is the day that ends all gospel salvation activity … It is the most important day by a billion times than any other day the world has ever known." On that day, Camping estimates roughly 207 million people, or about 3% of the world’s population, will be plucked from the earth. What will follow is five months of earthquakes and other calamities until the world officially ends on Oct. 21 of this year. [...]
And now Sweetness and Light:
[...] Wait a minute. Doesn’t this sound a lot like the global warming warnings that we have gotten over the last twenty some years? Except that they are more dire.
After all, the ‘Warmers’ believe that up to 1/3rd of the species on earth are about to die. That a half a billion people will be drowned by rising sea levels. That only 10% of the earth’s population will survive global warming.
And they certainly blame earthquakes along with just about every other natural catastrophe on global warming. [...]
We were to have The Mother of All Earthquakes yesterday causing bodies to rise from their graves. (I drove by several cemetaries yesterday and all the graves were still "closed" for the time being.) We did have earthquakes today in Ireland but no bodies rose from the graves.
Perhaps May 21, 2011 will be aded to the Doomsday Duds from 1844 until 2012 seeing that nothing happened. I need to get into another line of work because this Doomsday Cult made well over $80,000,000 to cover their "expenses"(?). What and why do they need expenses? People mortgaged all they had and sold all they had...so they could take it with them? Where is that in the Holy Scriptures?
Matthew 24:36, Of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my father only.
Is this preacher dude God the Father now? Is this preacher more powerful than Jesus Christ? Is this preacher more powerful than the angels of heaven? Is he? What will he do with the $80,000,000 he has collected? Will he buy an island somewhere so all his mutants can go "commune" with him or will there be mass suicides now?
This "issue" was so disgusting to me and it should be to you because even though the term "Rapture" is not in the Holy Scriptures, there is going to be a "taking away" of the Believers. Period. No one knows the day. No one knows the time. We MIGHT kind of figure in the year (MAYBE) but that is also a WTF.
As I said earlier, I am in the wrong line of work. So, please, everyone. Please leave tips in the link in the left-hand sidebar so The Snooper Report can achieve the $80,000,000 we need to keep writing our articles. I'm serious. Well, perhaps not the $80,000,000 but at least enough to get some gasoline. Thanks.
