At times in my life, I have sat, stood, walked or just was on a stroll thinking about what will become of this once great nation we call America. I often thought why the heathen so prosper and the non-heathens do not. But, then, I was thinking, what do the heathen do when their time is up? Is being prosperous better than going to Heaven?
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
There are many Christians that are prosperous, and I am not one of them in the earthly view but I am prosperous to God because I follow Him in most everything…I am human, you know. Sometimes I make mistakes. Sometimes you make mistakes. That’s what forgiveness is all about.
Philosophy, without God, is nothing…it doesn’t add up to much according to Scripture. And there’s always that vain deceit that our congress, and us, is so wallowed around and mired in upon…who needs it?
Psalm 118:6-10 speaks to me quite often…when I am listening to Him speak to me. No, it isn’t an audible verbiage I am receiving but it is the Holy Spirit which dwells within me that I hear speaking.
6 The Lord is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
7 The Lord taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.
8 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.
9 It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.
10 All nations compassed me about: but in the name of the Lord will I destroy them.
The Book of Habakkuk has always been on my mind no matter where I went…chapter 2:1-4…
I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
2 And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.
I don’t like getting reproved but the last two years, that is exactly what has happened to me. I feel like Job because I lost all that I had.
So, while others around me prosper in the world, I get reproved and the power of the Lord becomes so prominent, in most things, that all I can do is wait for the trumpets to sound and then I will be much more prosperous than any heathen can ever wish to become. Being in Heaven is so much better than making many dollars, isn’t it?
Yes, as family leaders, we are to provide for our families so we must work because when no one works, no one shall eat, correct? There is always a balance we must achieve all in the wisdom of God. 2 Thessalonians 3:10…
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
1 Timothy 5:8 states it a little better, if that is even required…
8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
Then again, there is always 1 Corinthians 1:18-25. This is where the heathen balk and the demons tremble…
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
I find it curious as to why those that will not work collect thousands of dollars from a government that hates God and then that very premise answers my question.
There is no more wisdom in DC and in most State legislatures. God has destroyed their wisdom and what we have is a body filled with people that all they do is nothing but a huge falderal making decisions not based in any Scriptural foundation. Makes me believe that Psalms 83 is happening to America. Go read it, please. I would place it here but I am already working on that article…it is intense and it will be a while before I can publish it.
1 Corinthians 1:26-31 finishes the tail above…
26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.
30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
And that is where my prosperity is and it is found in 1 Corinthians chapter 1. Selah.
I used to write all about politics, who did what and when and where, the lies MOST politicians said, which lie they told to many groups, all being different lies to boot, and then my writing world ceased to exist and all I had left was a Bible and my long lost remembrances of it so here I am, writing and preaching. I feel good and I don’t care how many people do or don’t like it. It comes from God and no one else. I hope what I write now will become a blessing to you all, whoever you may or may not be.
So, I still have politics on my mind but now I think about it from a Scriptural point of view which makes my eyes open wide with what I see, hear and read. With that, I will write a note that some politician might read because it is exactly what they need to hear and I don’t care which party they belong to.
Our federal congress is pathetic and has been since I started paying attention to it since I was at the age of 13. If President Reagan wasn’t in office for two terms, what is happening right now would have happened already and we would be at war in this nation. Trust me. No, Reagan was not perfect. Neither am I so just be quiet about that.
The federal congress is packed full of fools. SCOTUS is packed full of fools. The cabinet at 1600 Pennsylvania is packed full of fools. The Czars are packed full of fools. We have an individual in DC pretending to be the president when the constitution says he is not allowed to be there so we have a dictator and a pompous ass calling the shots causing so much pain and discontent, who knows when the first bullets will fly. With that said, we have several verses to read and study.
22 For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
At one time, we had a Godly nation. What do we have now besides a lesson from the Screwtape Letters?
9 Shall I not visit for these things? saith the Lord: and shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?
Read Psalm 83 please. You’ll see where this nation is going quickly.
This nation needs God’s phone number as we all do. Jeremiah 33:3…God’s phone number. It is amazing how Scriptures were written, isn’t it?
3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
This nation is soon to be broken. I think it is now but I hear nothing from DC about this so I guess it isn’t quite broken yet.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and contrite heart, o God, thou wilt not despise.
God bless and may the Lord reach your soul…if you let Him.
