Chemo Thoughts: The End of My World?

Earlier today a friend emailed me to ask how I was doing. I assume they were referring to my ongoing battle with leukemia. I answered that I was doing fine. I had determined early on when I got that first lethal prognosis that I was not going to use the pages of Radarsite for a continual updating on the morbid details of my chemotherapy. So I answered that I was doing fine. But, I wonder, how am I really doing? Am I really doing fine?

Nothing concentrates the mind like a death sentence. Especially one that is so close at hand and almost certain. Priorities are immediately questioned and reshuffled. What seemed of great import yesterday may have lost much or all of its weight today. The love and closeness of family and friends becomes paramount; whereas the opinions of strangers become less and less relevant. The often frenetic muddle of everyday life is quickly subsumed into the greater battle for life itself. There's only enough space left in your life for those things of real value, or perhaps for those values which are real. There's just not enough time left for empty rhetoric or endless gentlemanly debate. In whatever time is left you must embrace your family and your values and hold them dear.

The whole purpose of developing Radarsite was to speak up for America. To come to her defense. To answer her enemies and her critics with truth. To fight for the truth in the face of the relentless barrage of propaganda and lies. In short, a place to express my love and my respect for America and for American values. This mission has never wavered. The wonderful contributors whose fine work now fills these pages all share this love and respect for our great nation.

And now? Oh, I still love this beautiful country of ours, this wonderful meritocracy we call home. But my love is tinged with anxiety and fear. Like the love for a child who has gone astray, who has ignored all of our good advice and chosen an ignoble path to self-destruction. We can only watch helplessly as they slip further and further from our embrace and deeper and deeper into the black pit.

How do I feel? my friend asks. Here's how I really feel. From those very first days I have accepted my personal prognosis completely and without complaint. I am grateful for the endlessly fascinating life I have been allowed to live. But I have not yet accepted the dire fate that awaits my beloved country. I am filled with shame and disbelief at what we have become, what we are becoming, what we are giving up, what we have forgotten. My usually dependable inherent optimism has been all but eroded by the preposterous events of these last few years. That America I have so long loved and respected has been turned upside down. Those values that separated us from the rest of the world have either been ingloriously degraded or completely abandoned. We no longer know who we are or what we stand for. We allow others to define us, we allow our sworn enemies -- both within and without -- to determine our national agendas. We are in the fateful process of completely losing our national identity. And according to our recent elections, this makes half of our population happy. Half of our population considers our formerly-precious American identity to be the problem. America is what's wrong with this world. To fix the world we must therefore change what it means to be an American. Change we can believe in.

We are presently besieged by savage enemies. Islamists, Marxists, Anarchists, cruel dictators and criminal tyrants. We are besieged by alien cults of death who nurse apocalyptic visions of destruction. Everything that we hold dear is under attack and threatened. But the most dangerous and shameless enemy of all lives right here amongst us. Our very own treacherous patriots, who rush to give the keys to the kingdom to the barbarians at our gates. The idiots, the fools, the delusional liberals, and those elitist amoral progressives who honestly believe that by utterly destroying the fabric of this great nation they will somehow save it. They have traded our pride for guilt and our strength for safety. And I despise them for it. I despise them more than I despise our sworn enemies, because our sworn enemies do not disguise their motives under the cloak of patriotism.

And what of our innocent children? Our beloved grandchildren? What godless world have we bequeathed to them? What is our message to these innocents? There is no right or wrong. Everything is relative. All peoples and all belief systems are morally equal. There is no such thing as good or evil, just different points of view. War is morally wrong, no matter what its purpose. To defend yourself with violence is as unjustifiable as to attack one with violence.

How do I feel? I have been told that my life is coming to an end. So be it. I can deal with that. But can I deal with the prospect of my beloved country coming to an end? Is my beloved country eagerly embracing its own demise? Will our new America truly be willing to fight for its survival in this savage world? Or, as it seems to me now, have we chosen the ignoble road of appeasement and dishonor? Is there still hope for us?

Someone out there please tell me that I am wrong, that my pessimism is premature or unfounded, that my deductions are somehow flawed. Someone please tell me that I can leave this world in peace and not in this awful despair for our future. - rg

Its Shari'ah, Stupid #9

This is the ninth installment of a series on offensive Jihad in Fiqh.

Ibn Taymiyya, d. 1328, hanbali. Al-Siyasa al-Shariyya, cit. ur Rudolph Peters, Jihad in Classical and Modern Islam, s. 44-54.
Since lawful warfare is essentially jihad and since its aim is that the religion is God’s entirely and God’s word is uppermost, therefore, according to all Muslims, those who stand in the way of this aim must be fought. As for those who cannot offer resistance or cannot fight, such as women, children, monks, old people, the blind, handicapped, and their likes, they shall not be killed, unless they actually fight with words [i.e. by propaganda] and acts [e.g. by spying or otherwise assisting in the warfare]. […] we may only fight those who fight us when we want to make God’s religion victorious. […]

This jihad is obligatory if it is carried out on our intitiative and also if it is waged as defence. If we take the initiative, it is a collective duty, [which means that] if it is fulfilled by a sufficient number [of Muslims], the obligation lapses for all others and the merit goes to those who have fulfilled it […] But if the enemy wants to attack the Muslims, then repelling him becomes a duty for all those under attack and for the others in order to help them.

So the latter [form of jihad] consists in defense of the religion, of things that are inviolable, and of lives. Therefore it is fighting out of necessity. The former, however, is voluntary fighting in order to propagate the religion, to make it triumph and to intimidate the enemy, such as was the case with the expedition to Tabuk and the lik.

  • since its aim is that the religion is God’s entirely and God’s word is uppermost, therefore, according to all Muslims, those who stand in the way of this aim must be fought.
    • Get a clue! It means that everyone who does not embrace Islam or submit to subjugation & extortion must be fought.
  • they shall not be killed, unless they actually fight with words
    • Do you understand this? We may be killed because we expose Islam with these blog posts; even though we may be too old or infirm to fight on the battlefield.
  • This jihad is obligatory if it is carried out on our intitiative
    • Defense it ain't! It is offensive, aggressive war of conquest. Get a clue!
  • The former, however, is voluntary fighting in order to propagate the religion, to make it triumph and to intimidate the enemy, such as was the case with the expedition to Tabuk and the lik.
    • to propagate Islam
    • to make Islam triumph
    • to intimidate the enemy
      • Get a clue, for Chrissake! Islam is a war machine, neither a religion nor peaceful.

Hillary Clinton Spews Feces!

In an AFP report carried by Google, President Elect Obama's designated Secretary of State uttered this cretinous comment in her confirmation hearing.

"strategy of smart power in the Middle East that addresses the security needs of Israel and the legitimate political and economic aspirations of the Palestinians"
The security need of Israel is to be permanently and constantly free from attack and the threat of attack. Palestinians are Jews, not Arabs, not Muslims. Palestine is a corruption of a name imposed by Rome as an insult after a rebellion against Roman occupation of Israel. Get a clue; read the history.
Read the following quotation slowly & carefully; let it sink in for a moment. [Emphasis added.]
As candidly stated by Zahir Muhsein, then head of the P.L.O. Military Department and a member of its Executive Committee: "The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the State of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality, Today, there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak, Today, about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct Palestinian people to oppose Zionism. For tactical reasons, Jordan -- which is a sovereign state with defined borders -- cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa. While, as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beersheba and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan." (Amsterdam-based newspaper "Dagblad de Verdieping Trouw", March 31, 1977). [Palestinian" Identity As Propaganda Device]

Falestinians do not have any legitimate aspirations! Their aspirations are policide & genocide.

Read the PLO Charter:

  • Article 9: Armed struggle is the only way to liberate Palestine. Thus it is the overall strategy, not merely a tactical phase. The Palestinian Arab people assert their absolute determination and firm resolution to continue their armed struggle and to work for an armed popular revolution for the liberation of their country and their return to it. They also assert their right to normal life in Palestine and to exercise their right to self-determination and sovereignty over it.
  • Article 10: Commando action constitutes the nucleus of the Palestinian popular liberation war. This requires its escalation, comprehensiveness, and the mobilization of all the Palestinian popular and educational efforts and their organization and involvement in the armed Palestinian revolution. It also requires the achieving of unity for the national (watani) struggle among the different groupings of the Palestinian people, and between the Palestinian people and the Arab masses, so as to secure the continuation of the revolution, its escalation, and victory.
  • Article 15: The liberation of Palestine, from an Arab viewpoint, is a national (qawmi) duty and it attempts to repel the Zionist and imperialist aggression against the Arab homeland, and aims at the elimination of Zionism in Palestine. Absolute responsibility for this falls upon the Arab nation - peoples and governments - with the Arab people of Palestine in the vanguard. Accordingly, the Arab nation must mobilize all its military, human, moral, and spiritual capabilities to participate actively with the Palestinian people in the liberation of Palestine. It must, particularly in the phase of the armed Palestinian revolution, offer and furnish the Palestinian people with all possible help, and material and human support, and make available to them the means and opportunities that will enable them to continue to carry out their leading role in the armed revolution, until they liberate their homeland.
Read the Hamas Charter: [Links, emphasis & italicized items added.]

Platform

  • You are the best community that has been raised up for mankind. Ye enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency; and ye believe in Allah. And if the People of the Scripture had believed, it had been better for them. Some of them are believers; but most of them are evil-doers. [3:110]

    • Sahih Bukhari Volume 6, Book 60, Number 80:

      Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Verse:--"You (true Muslims) are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind." means, the best of peoples for the people, as you bring them with chains on their necks till they embrace Islam.

  • They will not harm you save a trifling hurt, and if they fight against you they will turn and flee. And afterward they will not be helped. [3:111]

  • Israel will rise and will remain erect until Islam eliminates it as it had eliminated its predecessors.

Article One

  • The Islamic Resistance Movement draws its guidelines from Islam; derives from it its thinking, interpretations and views about existence, life and humanity; refers back to it for its conduct; and is inspired by it in whatever step it takes.

Article Three

  • The basic structure of the Islamic Resistance Movement consists of Muslims who are devoted to Allah and worship Him verily [as it is written]: "I have created Man and Devil for the purpose of their worship" [of Allah]. Those Muslims are cognizant of their duty towards themselves, their families and country and they have been relying on Allah for all that. They have raised the banner of Jihad in the face of the oppressors in order to extricate the country and the people from the [oppressors'] desecration, filth and evil.

Article Five

  • As the Movement adopts Islam as its way of life, its time dimension extends back as far as the birth of the Islamic Message and of the Righteous Ancestor. Its ultimate goal is Islam, the Prophet its model, the Qur'an its Constitution. Its special dimension extends wherever on earth there are Muslims, who adopt Islam as their way of life; thus, it penetrates to the deepest reaches of the land and to the highest spheres of Heavens.

Article Seven

  • [...]The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said:

The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him! This will not apply to the Gharqad, which is a Jewish tree (cited by Bukhari and Muslim). [Sahih Bukhari 4.52.177, Sahih Muslim 41.6985]

Article Eight

  • Allah is its goal, the Prophet its model, the Qur'an its Constitution, Jihad its path and death for the case of Allah its most sublime belief.

Article Eleven

  • The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine has been an Islamic Waqf throughout the generations and until the Day of Resurrection, no one can renounce it or part of it, or abandon it or part of it. No Arab country nor the aggregate of all Arab countries, and no Arab King or President nor all of them in the aggregate, have that right, nor has that right any organization or the aggregate of all organizations, be they Palestinian or Arab, because Palestine is an Islamic Waqf throughout all generations and to the Day of Resurrection. Who can presume to speak for all Islamic Generations to the Day of Resurrection? This is the status [of the land] in Islamic Shari'a, and it is similar to all lands conquered by Islam by force, and made thereby Waqf lands upon their conquest, for all generations of Muslims until the Day of Resurrection. This [norm] has prevailed since the commanders of the Muslim armies completed the conquest of Syria and Iraq, and they asked the Caliph of Muslims, 'Umar Ibn al-Khattab, for his view of the conquered land, whether it should be partitioned between the troops or left in the possession of its population, or otherwise. Following discussions and consultations between the Caliph of Islam, 'Umar Ibn al-Khattab, and the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, be peace and prayer upon him, they decided that the land should remain in the hands of its owners to benefit from it and from its wealth; but the control of the land and the land itself ought to be endowed as a Waqf [in perpetuity] for all generations of Muslims until the Day of Resurrection. The ownership of the land by its owners is only one of usufruct, and this Waqf will endure as long as Heaven and earth last. Any demarche in violation of this law of Islam, with regard to Palestine, is baseless and reflects on its perpetrators.

Article Thirty-Four

Palestine is the navel of earth, the convergence of continents, the object of greed for the greedy, since the dawn of history. The Prophet, may Allah's prayer and peace be upon him, points out to that fact in his noble hadith in which he implored his venerable Companion, Ma'adh ibn Jabl, saying:

  • O Ma'adh, Allah is going to grant you victory over Syria after me, from Al-Arish to the Euphrates, while its men, women, and female slaves will be dwelling there until the Day of Resurrection. Those of you who chose [to dwell in one of the plains of Syria or Palestine will be in a state of Jihad to the Day of Resurrection.

Without giving a specific quote, AFP reports that Mrs. Clinton rejects negotiation with Hamas until they recognize Israel, renounce violence and agree to abide by previous peace agreements. When will that happen? On the 33rd day of the month of Never.

By virtue of Caliph Umar's conquest of the Roman Province of Syria in 638, the Levant belongs to Allah and Muslims must maintain possession of it. By reconquering a fragment of her ancient patrimony, Israel disproves Allah's promises and establishes his status as an impotent idol as demonstrated fact. Muslims will never tolerate that insult.

Allah made promises to Moe. One of them is quoted in the charter, in Art 29.

  • Allah has decreed: Lo! I verily shall conquer, I and my messengers. Lo! Allah is strong, Almighty. Sura LVIII (Al-Mujadilah), verse 21 [58:21]
The clearest expression of those promises is brought forth in Ibn Kathir's Tafsir, which exposes both the ayat in which they are expressed and the ahadith which confirm them. Click these links, read and learn.
Since James Earl Carter, only one President has demonstrated knowledge and expressed wisdom about the Middle East, and that period lasted about six months: G.W. Bush, who fell off the wagon of truth and reverted to the damnable lies of his predecessors. It is obvious that Barack H. Obama will ride high on the wagon of feces spewed by his predecessors.

There is no peace and will be none until Islam ceases to exist. This is because Allah commands and his messenger exemplified perpetual war for the purpose of conquering the entire world. This fatal fact is reflected in exegeses, Shari'ah & Fiqh. Only damned fools & accursed liars will deny this fatal fact in the face of clear evidence

Reliance of the Traveller, Book O. Chapter 9:

  • O9.0 (O: Jihad means to war against non-Muslims, and is etymologically derived from the word mujahada signifying warfare to establish the religion.
  • O9.1 [...]

As for subsequent times, there are two possible states in respect to non-Muslims.

The first is when they are in their own countries, in which case jihad (def: o9.8) is a communal obligation, and this is what our author is speaking of when he says, "Jihad is a communal obligation," meaning upon the Muslims each year.

  • O9.8: The Objectives of Jihad

The caliph (o25) makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians (N: provided he has first invited them to enter Islam in faith and practice, and if they will not, then invited them to enter the social order of Islam by paying the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya, def: o11.4) -which is the significance of their paying it, not the money itself-while remaining in their ancestral religions) (O: and the war continues) until they become Muslim or else pay the non-Muslim poll tax (O: in accordance with the word of Allah Most High,

"Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day and who forbid not what Allah and His messenger have forbidden-who do not practice the religion of truth, being of those who have been given the Book-until they pay the poll tax out of hand and are humbled" (Koran 9.29),

the time and place for which is before the final descent of Jesus (upon whom be peace). After his final coming, nothing but Islam will be accepted from them, for taking the poll tax is only effective until Jesus' descent (upon him and our Prophet be peace), which is the divinely revealed law of Muhammad. The coming of Jesus does not entail a separate divinely revealed law, for he will rule by the law of Muhammad. As for the Prophet's saying (Allah bless him and give him peace),

"I am the last, there will be no prophet after me,"

this does not contradict the final coming of Jesus (upon whom be peace), since he will not rule according to the Evangel, but as a follower of our Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) ).

  • O9.9

The caliph fights all other peoples until they become Muslim (O: because they are not a people with a Book, nor honored as such, and are not permitted to settle with paying the poll tax (jizya) ) [...]

That is Islamic law. It states that the Caliph must make at least one military expedition against Kuffar in every year. This is confirmed by Fiqh.
Fools, morons, idiots, cretins and the terminally brainwashed will not accept any evidence, no matter how copious nor how well documented. For those few remaining intelligent and open minded people who may read this post, I present links to exegeses: Ibn Kathir's Tafsir, which cites the ayat & ahadith upon which the Qadi's expert opinion is based. The titles alone will suffice for the few having common sense.
Now you know that anyone and everyone who spews "peace process", "two state solution", "road map","one state solution", "compromise", "settlement", etc. is either a fool or a liar, most likely a liar. Govern yourself accordingly and use common sense when you vote next time, if there is a next time.

Its Shari'ah, Stupid #8

This is the eighth in a series of posts quoting Fiqh concerning offensive Jihad.

Ibn Qudama, d. 1223, hanbali. Cit. ur. Henri Laoust, Le précis de droit d’Ibn Qudama […] (Beirut 1950), s. 273-6, 281.
Legal war (jihad) is an obligatory social duty (fard kifaya); when one group of Muslims guarantees that it is being carried out in a satisfactory manner, the others are exempted. The jihad becomes a strictly binding personal duty (fard ain) for all Muslims who are enlisted or whose country has been [invaded] by the enemy. It is obligatory only for free men who have reached puberty, are endowed with reason and capable of fighting. Jihad is the best of the works of supererogation.

This Hanbali Fiqh is congruent with the Shafi'ite, compare it to Reliance of the Traveller, Book O9. Take due notice of the following points in this quote.
  • Offensive Jihad is a collective obligation, binding on the Ummah until enough men answer the call.
  • Defensive Jihad is an individual obligation, binding on all able bodied Muslims of full age and reason.
  • Jihad is the best of extra credit good works for Brownie Points from Allah.

Its Shari'ah, Stupid #7

This is the seventh in a series of Jihad quotes from fiqh.

Sheikh Burhanuddin Ali of Marghinan, d. 1196, hanafi. The Hidayah, cit. ur T.P. Hughes, A Dictionary of Islam (London 1895/1994), s. 244-5.
Quote:
The destruction of the sword is incurred by infidels, although they be not the first aggressors, as appears from various passages in the traditions which are generally received to this effect. […] When the Muslims enter the enemy’s country and besiege the cities or strongholds of the infidels, it is necessary to invite them to embrace the faith, because Ibn Abbas relates of the Prophet that he never destroyed any without previously inviting them to embrace the faith. If, therefore, they embrace the faith, it is unnecessary to war with them, because that which was the design of the war is then obtained without war. […] If the infidels, upon receiving the call, neither consent to it nor agree to pay capitation tax, it is then incumbent on the Muslims to call upon God for assistance, and to make war upon them […]

So much for Islam's battles all being defensive. The first sentence takes care of that matter completely. The last sentence fills in the blanks. Dawa is extended: extortion or war result if it ain't accepted. When will our government ever learn? Islam is war, not peace!

Supporting Israel One Post At A Time

~Snooper~

Pro-terrorist groups in the USA are especially perfect examples of mental illness. Last Saturday we provided a platform for some Pro-Freedom and Pro-Israel individuals to report live from the pro-terrorist rally in LA. The "protesters" were claiming to be Pro-Palestinian but Palestine doesn't exist. Curious that is.

Our original post is here but, since that day, there are more which have the full details of the event. Political Pistachio has two posts up which can be found here and here. Political Vindication has their post complete with pictures of the hate-filled pro-terrorists. Simply amazing.

As we listened live to the event on Saturday, there were many references to the commie-pinko flag displays and the many Che Guacamole supporters. Does anyone find that particularly odd?

Just a few moments ago, I received an email with a link to a protest someplace in Europe documented on You Tube and there are plenty of terrorist supporters and folks displaying that commie-pinko flag as well. I am amazed that the mental illness is not just in the USA. The terrorists have a long standing relationship with communist lovers so it is no wonder that they hate America and Israel so much.

War News: Voices From The War - Rare Stories Related

These stories and photo galleries are from July of 2008. I post them as a reminder what our Troops have accomplished and as an indictment of our alleged informative news services in the USA.

News:
Greenhouses Open As New Model for Agriculture
By Pvt. Christopher McKenna
3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division

FORWARD OPERATING BASE MAHMUDIYAH, Iraq – A series of four greenhouses in Mahmudiyah officially opened in a ribbon cutting ceremony, June 28.

“The greenhouses are definitely a dominant feature in the area; there is nothing else around them, and they can be seen well into the distance,” said Capt. Benjamin Neusse, 3rd Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, Civil Military Operations officer. “Hopefully it gives people the impression that progress is being made along agricultural lines.”

The four greenhouses are more than 500 square meters each, and use agriculture refill plastic sheets on the outside. The sheets convert ultraviolet rays into heat to produce a more acclimated environment for plants to grow.

“The greenhouse is a pilot project through the local agriculture union for research and development of agriculture technology,” said Neusse, a native of Murfreesboro, Tenn. “The houses are on lease for one year to the union to educate local farmers on potential technology.”

There is a 60 cubic meter storage pond for the drip irrigation system. All of the houses have an independent valve, which means each can be individually selected for irrigation. [...] photo

IA, Rakkasans Detain Four Suspected Insurgents in Village of Mushada
By Staff Sgt. Amber Emery
3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division

CAMP STRIKER, Iraq – Iraqi army soldiers successfully led a joint ground and air assault mission in the village of Mushada, June 27.

The operation’s intent was to disrupt enemy operations and detain suspected insurgents in the area.

“Today was very successful. The IA’s are taking four detainees with them so I definitely count it as a success,” said Capt. Geoffrey Earnhart, Company C, 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) commander.

Soldiers from 3rd Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army Division successfully completed the assault in Mushada, about 16 kilometer south of Baghdad, with guidance from Rakkasans Soldiers.

“We were conducting a supporting role in this operation . . . the main thrust of this was the IA coming in by ground,” said Earnhart, a native of Perrysburg, Ohio.

The operation demonstrated the ability of IA and coalition forces to react rapidly on an objective.

“So far I think they are doing very well. They were really quick to get on the target and they have shown a lot of professionalism and ability,” Earnhart said. [...] photos

Army Releases Account of First 18 Months of Iraq Occupation
By Kristen Noel
Special to American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON - A new book released by the Army examines the challenging period of transition from conventional combined-arms operations to full-spectrum and counterinsurgency operations in Iraq after the fall of Saddam Hussein's regime in April 2003.

On Point II was written to provide a historical account for future Army leaders on the decisive 18 months following the overthrow of Saddam's regime, Army Col. Timothy Reese, an armor officer and one of the book's authors, told online journalists and bloggers in a teleconference yesterday.

"We tried to capture the improvisation and ingenuity of the average American soldier as they ... work through the challenges of detainee operations and working without enough linguists and trying to figure out how to oversee or supervise reconstruction operations," On Point II co-author Donald Wright added.

Reese explained that a period of uncertainty followed the regime's collapse, when the message wasn't clear on how U.S. and coalition forces would handle the turnover of power in Iraq.

"Was it an immediate turnover of power to ... some sort of Iraqi governing body, or was it going to be a multiyear process of allied occupation leading to a constitution and elections?" he asked.

"That (message) was certainly missing, and it was a message that changed radically in the course of 30 days, so that hurt," Reese said.

"You can imagine that, in that chaos, where assumptions are changing every day, it would have been very difficult for the military to sort of form this overall command message to the population about exactly where the coalition hoped to take Iraq and its citizens," Wright said. [...] no photos

Salah Ad Din Province Sees Over 600 Men Reconcile
By the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division Public Affairs Office

TIKRIT, Iraq - Recently a meeting between coalition forces and local Iraqi leadership took place June 26, regarding reconciliation in the city of Tikrit.

The governor of the Salah ad Din province, Hamad Hamood Shekti along with Col. Michael S. McBride, commander of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (AA) met with local governmental and military leadership to discuss the way forward for Iraqis wishing to reintegrate back into society. Since May, over 600 hundred men, have pledged to support the Iraqi government by taking the gun out of politics in the province, which is home to the key Iraqi cities of Tikrit, Samarra, Bayji and Balad.

By broadening the reconciliation process across the province, the Iraqi government, Iraqi security forces and the Bastogne Brigade of the 101st Airborne Division seek to provide an opportunity for former fighters and supporters of the insurgency to unite under the Iraqi flag.

“The purpose of this is to open doors for those who do not have anything to do with violence or killing of any Iraqis or coalition forces,” said Shekti.

The long time governor said that reconciliation is a window of opportunity that men who find themselves wanted by ISF and CF, should not pass up.

“The individuals whose names are on the roster should hand themselves in,” he said. “It is great chance to clear your name so you can continue with your life and to rebuild Salah ad-Din and Iraq.” [...] no photos

By Spc. Justin Snyder
3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division

CAMP STRIKER – The second Village of Hope training center class graduated during a ceremony held at Patrol Base Stone in Hawr Rajab, July 3.

The graduating class of 58 Iraqi citizens spent 60 days training in electricity, carpentry and plumbing. Six of the students were returning trainees who took part in a newly created supervisors’ course.

BAGHDAD – As Spc. Bryan Warman, a native of Dodge City, Kansas, winds up for his throw, eyes the plastic steer intensely and casts his hand out. The lasso finds its purchase and the slack is taken at a blinding speed.

This is an exercise he practices over and over until he finally feels satisfied that the old reflexes and muscles have not forgotten the proper technique.

Warman may be deployed to a small joint security station in Iraq, but with his love for competitive team roping he refuses to let his talent become rusty. As this cowboy turned infantryman would say “you have to be committed to it.”

Warman is currently serving as a radio operator for the 1st Squadron, 75th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).

Soccer Tournament Celebrates Sunni and Shia Unity in Yethrib
By 1st Lt. Jonathan J. Springer
1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division

Yethrib, Iraq – For the people of Yethrib, Iraq, it has been a long five years. For over half a decade, the Balad and Yethrib areas have been plagued with sectarian violence that has pitted rival Shiite Muslims and Sunni Arabs against one another. The bloodshed between tribes, at times, had turned into all out warfare that was waged in palm groves and fields near the Tigris River.

In 2007, the conflict between the Muslim sects had reached a boiling point and many throughout Iraq, described the situation as having elements of civil war.

But since then, things have drastically changed.

Over the course of 2007, the “tribal awakening” began to spread throughout all of Iraq. This awakening saw many high profile Iraqi sheiks turn their backs against the brutality of foreign led fighters and stand up, along with the coalition forces and Iraqi security forces, to take back the streets of their homeland. Top Guns Patrol Iraqi Family Village, Attend Council Meetings Weekly
By Sgt. James Hunter
2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division

BAGHDAD – Daily, Soldiers from the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 1st Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, patrol the streets of the Iraqi family village. The area, near the Victory Base Complex, is relatively safe, and is home to citizens from all throughout Iraq.

Once the war kicked off in 2003, many families fled their homes to come to this once abandoned orphanage on the outskirts of Baghdad.

Their mission is simple – keep the Iraqi people within the village safe and work with their local council to improve the quality of life for these struggling residents.

1st Lt. Andrew Bowling, a native of Medfield, Mass., said he believes a great deal of them were once wealthy, but when the war began they fell on hard times and needed to flee their area because of the fighting, leaving behind their lives and jobs.

The Soldiers of HHB are working tirelessly with the local council to improve their everyday lives in anyway they can.

They are currently conducting a census to gather as much information about the village as possible. This gives them a better understanding of who lives where, how many people live in the household, the occupation of those presiding, which in turn, helps gain a better understanding of the village as a whole. Petraeus Discusses Way Ahead for Afghanistan

~Snooper~

Voices From The War

By Army Staff Sgt. Michael J. Carden
American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON - Peace and stability in Afghanistan are incomplete without improving relations among the country and its neighbors, the top U.S. military commander in the region said here yesterday.

Army Gen. David H. Petraeus, U.S. Central Command commander, told an audience at the Washington Convention Center that the road to success in Afghanistan involves commitment and comprehensive coordination from Pakistan, India and possibly Russia and Iran to combat the spread of terror and extremism in central Asia.

"It's not possible to solve the challenges internal to Afghanistan without addressing the challenges, especially in terms of security, with Afghanistan's neighbors," Petraeus said in an address to the U.S. Institute of Peace. "A regional approach is required."

Petraeus spoke as part of a conference highlighting some of the foreign policy challenges facing President-elect Barack Obama's administration, citing complexities of the war in Afghanistan and his perspective on the way forward to bring peace to the region.

"There has been nothing easy about Afghanistan," he said. "Indeed, nearly every aspect has been hard, and that will continue to be the case in 2009 and the years beyond." [...] read the rest here

Hamas In Their Own Voices

Hamas In Their Own Voices

An email from a state Act For America chapter on the East Coast alerted me to the existence of another red hot video clip. This one, from MEMRI, shows Hamas leaders spewing their genocidal venom prior to Israel's well justified retaliatory strike into Gaza.

MEMRI's bulletin announcing this video clip is here.

The video, a compilation of MEMRI TV clips that aired prior to the current Gaza crisis, includes statements by Hamas leaders calling for the annihilation of Israel and of all Jews, for death to America, and for the Islamic conquest of the world.

Featured are Hamas leader Khaled Mash'al, Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniya, Hamas MPs Mushir Al-Masri and Fathi Hamad, Hamas MP and cleric Yunis Al-Astal, Palestinian Legislative Council acting speaker Sheikh Ahmad Bahr, and Hamas clerics Wael Al-Zarad and Muhsen Abu 'Ita.

Viewers will also witness Hamas military training for adults and children, anti-American speeches at rallies including burning of the American flag and calls of support for "The Afghan Mujahidin", Hamas Al-Aqsa TV children's shows, and more.

The following quotes were contained in the email I received earlier.

Hamas = Islam

Thanks and a tip of the hat to http://www.barenakedislam.wordpress.com, for informing me of the existence of this video through a link posted on the UAC Anti Jihad Forum.

Pissing people off is not my sport. Sometimes it is necessary. This is one of those occasions. The ten minute video which I am bringing to your attention is extremely important. It was filmed in Gaza, and narrated by Christian Prince, allegedly sired by Saudi Royalty; his mother immigrated to KSA as a house servant. Christian Prince grew up in the Arabic Culture and studied Islam's texts in Arabic. He knows Moe's Murder Cult from the inside.

In this short excursion into a long subject, Christian Prince makes important revelations about Hamas. You are about to witness the murder of a wedding party which Hamas attacked because they were playing music and singing. You will also witness Falestinians celebrating 9/11 and little boys being trained to hate & murder Jews.

Christian Prince will also reveal some of the history of the Levant, exposing the Falestinian's inversion of history & morality.

If, like me, you are stuck on a dialup connection, it will be necessary to download the ten minute (25MB)video. In that case, Download & install Irfanview.exe which can play flv files directly. It is freeware, and extremely useful if you need to do file conversions or edit images on an XP system.

If you don't have Firefox or Flock, download and install it now, then follow the following sequence.

Do not forget or abandon this video after watching it. Copy this blog post and paste it into an email to everyone in your address book. Ask the recipients to forward it.

There is one significant fact about Hamas which the video does not reveal.

The Slogan of the Hamas

Article Eight

Allah is its goal, the Prophet its model, the Qur'an its Constitution, Jihad its path and death for the case of Allah its most sublime belief.

  • Allah is its goal
    • This means meeting him; earning his approbation & admission to Paradise, referred to by the Qur'an as the Supreme Success.
  • the Prophet is its model
  • the Qur'an its Constitution
    • Hamas is identical to Islam!!! Hamas = Islam && Islam = Hamas!!
  • Jihad is its path
  • death for the case of Allah its most sublime belief
For the clueless: "the Qur'an its Constitution" is the key phrase because it establishes the fatal fact that Hamas and Islam are one and the same. Hamas neither adds to nor subtracts from Islam; it is Islam. To erase all doubt, read the Charter of Hamas. You will find Qur'an & hadith quotes therein; they show you the foundation upon which Hamas is erected..

Some Things Never Change

~Snooper~

Somethings never change. Norman Lear was and still is and will always be a libtard hack dufus moron. As I have stated so many times I cannot recall how many, every time a libtard tries to refute a "something", they ALWAYS wind up admitting to that particular "something".

Norman Lear tried to make the character Archie Bunker out to be some nutbar right winger and in the process made him into a prophet. Listen to this clip from All In The Family from the early 1970s. Simply amazing.

Its Shari'ah, Stupid #5

This is the fifth in a series of posts focusing on quotes from fiqh. These quotes were contained in the Offensive Jihad thread at FOMI.nu and are preserved in this Windows Help File.

al-Mawardi, d. 1058, shafi’i. al-Ahkam as-Sultaniyyah, övers. Asadullah Yate, The Laws of Islamic Governance (London 1996), s. 28, 60, 77-8, 200-1.
[The caliph must] make jihad against those who resist Islam after having been called to it until they submit or accept to live as a protected dhimmi-community – so that Allah’s rights, may He be exalted, be made uppermost above all [other] religion. […]

it is forbidden us to initiate an attack on the mushrikun while they are unawares or at night, that is, it is forbidden to kill them, use fire against them or begin an attack before explaining the invitation to Islam to them, informing them of the miracles of the Prophet and making plain the proofs so as to encourage acceptance on their part; if they still refuse to accept after this, war is waged against them and they are treated as those whom the call has reached.

The Caliph is obligated to attack Kuffar who reject the call to embrace Islam. Keep 8:39 & 9:29 in mind as the foundation of this obligation. The supremacism clause at the end of the first sentence reflects 9:33.

General Cites Work to Improve Communications With Pakistan
By Gerry J. Gilmore
American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON - Senior U.S. and Pakistani military officials are working hard to improve communications and collaboration between their organizations, especially with regard to operations along the 450-mile-long Afghanistan-Pakistan border, a senior U.S. officer posted in Afghanistan said today.

U.S.-Pakistani relations were roiled after Pakistan claimed that 11 of its troops were killed during a, June 10, U.S. air strike aimed at insurgents operating near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

A joint U.S., Afghan and Pakistani military investigation of the incident is ongoing, Army Maj. Gen. Jeffrey J. Schloesser, commander of Combined Joint Task Force 101 and 101st Airborne Division told Pentagon reporters during a satellite-carried news conference.

"When I met with my counterpart there in Pakistan, I expressed condolences to any loss of life, and we agree that we look forward to collaborating and communicating better," said Schloesser, who arrived in Afghanistan in April and also heads counterinsurgency operations for NATO's Regional Command East.

Schloesser has made three trips to Pakistan over the past three months, he said, to meet with senior Pakistani army leaders.

Insurgents travel back and forth along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, he said. Some insurgents, he said, also are known to maintain camps in the federally administered tribal area in Pakistan's remote northwestern region. [...]

General Cites Security, Development, Governance Gains in Afghanistan
By Gerry J. Gilmore
American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON - U.S., coalition and Afghan security forces are hunting down the Taliban and other insurgents operating in Afghanistan, while vital reconstruction and governance programs continue to spread across the country, a senior U.S. military officer said today.

Steady progress is being made in Afghanistan in the areas of security, development and governance, Army Maj. Gen. Jeffrey J. Schloesser, commander of Combined Joint Task Force 101 and 101st Airborne Division, told Pentagon reporters during a satellite-carried news conference.

"We're clearly not done, and I'm nowhere near yet able to say that we've reached irreversible momentum," said Schloesser, who arrived in Afghanistan in April and also heads counterinsurgency operations for NATO's Regional Command East. "But I do know that we're making good progress, and each and every day we're making a difference in the Afghan people's lives."

Noting a 40-percent increase in enemy attacks in his sector in the January-to-May timeframe compared to a year ago, Schloesser pointed out that attacks on U.S., coalition and Afghan security forces have gone up each year since 2002. The general also acknowledged that 40 Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen and civilians have been killed since his command took responsibility for the region in early April. [...]

CAMP STRIKER, Iraq – Iraqi army soldiers conducted a cordon, search and patrol of the Fetoah area, June 18, to disrupt enemy operations and detain any insurgents in the area.

Soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, 22nd Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army Division were assisted by Rakkasan Soldiers from 3rd platoon, Company B, 1st Bn., 35th Armored Division (attached). “The people in the houses we visited today were very calm and collected and wanting to help the IA find what they were looking for,” said Cpl. Raymond W. Miller, 1st squad A, Co. B, 1-35 Armd. Div. team leader.

The IA actively participates in every phase of the planning process for these missions, said Sgt. Ryan Hamilton, 1st squad leader, Co. B, 1-35 Armd. Div.

“The number one thing (the IA) did today was they listened. They performed everything that we expected of them and really gave 110 percent,” said Hamilton, a native of Mocksville, N.C. “I think they are capable of doing these types of missions and completing these types of missions with flying colors.” [...] photos

By Multi-National Division - Baghdad

BAGHDAD – Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers, acting on a tip, discovered a vehicle with 11 improvised rocket-assisted mortars rockets in the bed of the vehicle at approximately 4:40 p.m., June 24.

Iraqi and MND-B Explosive Ordinance Detachment personnel were notified of the munitions-laden vehicle; the forces arrived on to the scene and determined the best method to dispose of the ordinance was by controlled detonation.

The hazard reduction, which consisted of a series of three controlled detonations, began shortly after 11:30 p.m. The controlled detonations were conducted safely, with no injuries to local citizens or damage to private property.

“These rockets endanger people’s lives” said Col. William Hickman, commander of 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division. “Extremists placed the lives of families and their homes in danger. Because of the tip provided by a concerned citizen, and the skill of the explosive ordinance disposal team, no one was injured.”

A concerned citizen called into the national tips hotline that led to the prevention of this potentially deadly attack, said Col. Allen Batschelet, chief of staff, MND-B and 4th Infantry Division.

“The ministry of interior sponsors the national tips hotline that lead Iraqi army and U.S. Soldiers to seizing this IRAM,” said Batschelet. “Coalition forces will continue to exploit intelligence provided by the concerned Iraqi citizens in cooperation with the MoI to further develop information that will lead us to those responsible for these heinous weapons.” [END]

Hurriyah Residents Graduate From Business Training
By 2nd Brigade Combat Team 101st Airborne Division Public Affairs Office

BAGHDAD – Fifty-five Hurriyah residents graduated from a five-day course at the Small Business Development Center in the Karadah District of Baghdad, June 17.

The five days of training focused on “How to Start or Improve a Business” and is geared toward helping local residents become constructive in their communities.

The Small Business Development Center, which opened in December 2006, began due to required financing, capacity building and training for a large proportion of the small businesses in Iraq. Since that time, more than 700 Baghdad residents have attended the course.

The graduation was a real watershed moment for a considerable number of the graduates. The training has helped to transform their thinking and improved their prospects for the future.

Qasima Habib, a mother of three, said she has a long history in the hair dressing business.

“I have been in the business of hair dressing now almost 25 years; my husband is retired, and we as a family are totally dependant on my business,” Habib said. "Since 2006, I saw a downturn in business activity and revenue decreased.

“This in large part was due to the escalating violence in Hurriyah and peoples’ reluctance to seek hair dressers. Since then, my business that was supporting me financially has become a burden because I have to bear the rent of the facility and the cost of keeping the place open and thought very much about selling the business and seeking employment else where.” [...]

Day in the Life... Supply Sergeant Meets Needs of War Fighters
By Sgt. James Hunter
2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division

BAGHDAD – Without supplies, it would be virtually impossible for the Army to conduct its peace and war time missions.

Without supply sergeants, such as Multi-National Division – Baghdad’s Staff Sgt. Jeremy Reynolds, a native of Arlington, Texas, it would be extremely difficult for his company to accomplish its mission as well.

In few, yet simple words, Reynolds said “supporting the war fighter” is his mission.

“To me, my job is what makes or breaks how well our company (runs). Without the support from supply how well would we operate? Not very well in my eyes,” he said. “Supply is all about supporting the mission and the war fighter. I guess what I'm saying is supply is one of the most important jobs the Army has to offer.”

Reynolds, 28, said he always knew the Army was the place for him. While growing up and playing sports, especially enjoying rugby, he dreamed of the day he could don a military uniform. [...] photos

BAGHDAD – Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers discovered a vehicle with 9 improvised rocket assisted mortars in the bed of a vehicle in the Kadamiyah District of Baghdad at approximately 4:40 p.m., June 24.

The Soldiers discovered the IRAMs based on a tip from a local Iraqi.

BAGHDAD - Iraqi security forces, civic leaders, local townsmen and coalition forces gathered for a ribbon cutting ceremony in the Ameriyah community in Mansour District of Baghdad, to acknowledge the opening of the biggest public works substation in Baghdad, June 25.

Public works substations provide essential services to local communities such as trash pick up, street cleaning and other services deemed necessary for proper community maintenance.

The opening of the Ameriyah substation marks an important milestone for residents of this area who have not had these services in more than two years.

“These basic services used to be centralized into only one station located in the Eastern Mansour district of Baghdad, creating a deficit in other parts of the city,” said Col. Louis Fazeka, of the Pennsylvania National Guard, assigned to the embedded Provincial Reconstruction Team, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad, the team that was overseeing the construction of the station. NANGARHAR PROVINCE, Afghanistan – Two Sky Soldiers from the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team were announced the winners of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Soldier and Non-commissioned Officer of the Quarter competition conducted on Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan.

Sgt. Jeremy De Jesus, from Waterbury, Conn., and Spc. Amy Penn, from Cave City, Ark., both members of Charlie Company, 173rd Special Troops Battalion, swept the competition away, said Sgt. Maj. Lyle Womack, 173rd ABCT operations sergeants major.

Six Soldiers and five NCOs participated in the competition, according to De Jesus.

The eleven Soldiers were selected by their chain of command as being the best Soldiers to represent their unit in the competition.

“It was a little intimidating,” said Penn. “We were the only Soldiers not wearing a 101st patch.”

The Soldiers were tested on physical fitness, weapons, warrior tasks, written tests and appeared before a board of senior NCOs.

“We had to take apart an M-9 Pistol, M-4 Carbine and M-240B Machine Gun in two minutes,” said Penn. “Then we had to put them back together.”

Penn and De Jesus spent four months preparing for the competition. They studied alone, together and even came up with their own ways of retaining information. [...]

Former Sailor Builds Future As Soldier
By Pvt. Christopher McKenna
3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division Public Affairs Office

CAMP STRIKER, Iraq — Thirteen years in the Navy taught Craig Bedard to fight fires. He transitioned to the Army to continue serving his country, and learn a new skill he hopes to practice after his time in the military comes to an end.

Staff Sergeant Bedard now works as the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) force protection non-commissioned officer-in-charge. Working with the Rakkasans, Bedard conducts assessments to make sure things are running smoothly with the systems at different bases. His work, though much different from his years as a fire fighter with the Navy, is very valuable to him.

“Dealing with surveillance systems is something I plan to continue doing outside of the military,” Bedard said. “I’m looking into becoming an aerostat technician at the U.S.-Mexico border as a FSR,” he said.

This is Bedard’s first deployment since transitioning to the Army two-and-a-half years ago. He made the transition through a program known as Blue-to-Green, which helped him continue his service uninterrupted. [...] photo

Barrier Emplacement Opens Roads in Abu Ghuraib

2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division

BAGHDAD, Iraq –Packed cars, meandering pedestrians and the occasional donkey pulling a cart fill the busy streets of Baghdad daily.

Couple this with roads blocked off by Iraqi security and coalition forces to lessen special groups militants and extremists ability to prey on citizens and you have the makings of a traffic jam in Baghdad.

Karaoke in Iraq
By Spc. Cynthia S. Teears
11th Public Affairs Detachment

COB SPEICHER, Iraq - Having a place where the Soldiers can be themselves is a great stress reducer while deployed to Iraq. The average Soldier is at work the majority of the time, with few to no days off.

This is where the Morale, Welfare and Recreation comes into play. Troops find a way to relax in a combat zone through the MWR center at Contingency Operating Base Speicher, located in Tikrit, Iraq.

The MWR offers a variety of activities for service members and civilians. One favorite crowd pleaser is karaoke. Soldiers can come in and sing their favorite songs during karaoke night, Tuesday and Thursday at the main MWR facility.

“I love Karaoke,” exclaimed Spc. Matthew Hansen, a motor transport operator, 426th Brigade Support Battalion. “Sing badly if you must, but sing!”

“Karaoke gives you time to get away from work,” said Sgt. Thera Pead, a supply sergeant assigned to Company A, 426th BSB, 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division. “It gives you a chance to be yourself and it builds morale.” [...] photos

By Sgt. Paul Monroe
2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division

BAGHDAD – Multi-National Division Baghdad Soldiers from the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, opened a public works substation in Yarmouk, a neighborhood in northwest Baghdad, June 14.

The Yarmouk substation will serve the southeast Mansour District and provides workers a place to store equipment used for basic services, such as trash removal and sewage maintenance.

“All of this was built from scratch” said 1st Lt. Nicholas Anderson, a civil military operations officer with the 4th “Straight Arrows” Battalion, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, operationally attached to the 2nd BCT, 101st Abn. Div.

Blackjack Soldiers picked up where the Soldiers they replaced from 2nd “Patriot” Battalion, 32nd Field Artillery Regiment, 1st infantry Division, left off, who worked during their 15-month deployment to improve security and get essential services going. The unit went as far as hiring 50 workers to pickup trash in the Yarmouk area while funding for the substation was on hold. [...] photos

3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) Public Affairs Office

CAMP STRIKER, Iraq –Soldiers of 626th Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), conducted a mass casualty exercise at the Camp Striker dining facility, June 17.

A simulated mortar attack struck the dining facility at approximately 3 p.m. Medical personnel brought Soldiers to the aid station for proper care and evacuation. The simulated injuries ranged from minor lacerations to traumatic head wounds.

“This was a worst case scenario exercise,” said Pfc. Aaron Betts, a native of Houston, Texas, and truck driver for Company A, 626th BSB. “(The exercise) trained on how to properly recover and treat injured personnel in case of a mortar attack.”

This was the first exercise of the kind conducted by Rakkasan Soldiers since taking command of the Troop Medical Center.

“We just took over the TMC a month-and-a-half ago, and it is beneficial to practice the evacuation, transport and treatment procedures in the instance that something like this happens,” said 1st Lt. Christopher Johnson, Co. C, 626th BSB nurse. [...] photos

Screaming Eagle’s, Iraqi Volunteers and Iraqi Forces Have Al Qaida Reeling
By Sgt. Rick Rzepka

1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (AA) Public Affairs Office

Al JAZZERA DESERT, Iraq – “Yesterday some men tried to kill me as I was driving my car,” said the man with a reflective belt draped across his chest. “They say that if I stay with the volunteers they will kill me, but I don’t care about that,” he said as he lit one cigarette with the stub of another.

The man is part of an all volunteer force called the Concerned Local Citizens, or “Sons of Iraq” and he and his compatriots have had enough. The violence, the killing, the overall lawlessness that was a hallmark of Samarra a year ago, left these men to make a decision: apathy or action. They chose the latter.

Today, hundreds of volunteers, spread throughout the greater Samarra area have banded together to secure the once turbulent city and its people from enemy extremists. In doing so, they have allowed coalition forces to focus their attention on dismantling a waning al Qaida in Iraq.

“CLC leaders and IP leaders are taking care of a lot of the footwork in securing the population centers, which lets us take the fight to al Qaeda and their safe-havens,” said Sgt. 1st Class Jason Martin, Gator Company, 2nd Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment.

Martin and his Soldiers are part of the famed “No Slack” battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, which has a reputation for an intense work ethic and exceptional Soldiering. Since arriving in Iraq in October of 2007, the battalion has seen the security situation in Samarra and its periphery go from fragile to firm due to greater cooperation and effectiveness of Iraqi Security Forces, the volunteers and Coalition forces. Never Give Up
The adrenaline and anticipation is flowing throughout every member of both aircrews. Suddenly, the helicopters are welcomed with a hail of gunfire. The teams respond quickly and return salutations with successive rounds of automatic machinegun fire.

The enemy backs off. However, both crews ran out of ammunition and the enemy sees an opening to attack ground troops once again. A decision must be made. It must be made quickly because every delayed second is another 101st Airborne Division Soldier wounded.

“We stay and fight,” said Lt. Col. James H. Bradley Jr., the battalion commander of the 3rd Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment, Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division.

On January 16 2008, two aircrews commanded by Bradley and Chief Warrant Officer 2 Joseph Henry, supported Troop C., 1st Squadron 32nd Cavalry ground forces as an aerial reaction force. After his crew dispensed the helicopter’s ammunition, the team made low passes at the enemy to draw enemy fire.

Bradley stated how proud he was of his team and how privileged he felt to serve with them. “Heroic events happen in OIF everyday. Most events go unrecognized.” [...] no photos

Relations Build at Fence Line
By Maj. Craig Heathscott
39th Brigade Combat Team, Multi-National Division - Baghdad

BAGHDAD – Time had little effect on the strands of razor-sharp concertina wire that spanned hundreds of meters and split Ali’s farmland except to dull its original purpose - security. Located on the outer wall of Camp Slayer on the Victory Base Complex in Baghdad, the fence was originally constructed sometime during the beginning Operation Iraqi Freedom more than five years ago. But until early June, it served no purpose but to divide.

In the small community of Radwaniyah, west of Baghdad International airport, an Iraqi farmer simply wanted to be able to access his fields without the seemingly unnecessary long walk-a-rounds resulting from the wire. He had wanted to take the fence down himself; however, he was afraid the coalition forces overlooking his farm from the towers might shoot him.

“I happy to do work taking poles out of ground, but don’t want someone to shoot me because I was stealing,” said Ali, who speaks relatively good English. “I talked to captain (Cesaro) when he drove by and I asked him if I could move it. I thank him very much. Good man.” [...] photos

'Operation Balls DiMaggio' Aims to Deter IDF, Weapons Trafficking in Vicinity of Joint Base Balad Anaconda
By 1st Lt. Jonathan J. Springer
1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division

Joint Base Balad Anaconda, Iraq – Since, June 18, Artillerymen from the 2nd Battalion, 320th Field Artillery Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), have been conducting a full-spectrum combat operation aimed at disrupting and limiting indirect-fire attacks in vicinity of Joint-Base Balad Anaconda, Iraq.

The operation, dubbed “Balls DiMaggio”, is a large-scale operation solely focused on the security of the local population; it is being executed with continuous, 24-hour, combat-security patrols with the intent of denying and deterring IDF attacks targeted towards Iraqi civilians and personnel located on the JBBA.

“We have had great success in reducing attacks of all types within our area of responsibility; however, at this time, IDF is affecting the local populace more and it is detracting from economic opportunities and injuring civilians,” said Lt. Col. John F Dunleavy, battalion commander for the 2-320th FAR.

Since 2004, over 2500 IDF attacks have occurred on or near the JBBA. In the last 6 months alone, six Iraqi children have been killed and numerous civilians have been wounded due to insurgent indirect-fire attacks. The 2-320th FAR hopes to prevent these kinds of incidents from happening in the future. [...] photos

IA, Rakkasans Conduct Patrols Near Fetoah
By Staff Sgt. Amber Emery
3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division

CAMP STRIKER, Iraq – Iraqi army soldiers conducted a cordon, search and patrol of the Fetoah area, June 18, to disrupt enemy operations and detain any insurgents in the area.

Soldiers from the 3rd Battalion, 22nd Brigade, 6th Iraqi Army Division were assisted by Rakkasan Soldiers from 3rd platoon, Company B, 1st Bn., 35th Armored Division (attached). The combined effort successfully gained intelligence about the area and demonstrated the capabilities of IA to the local populace.

“I think they are capable of doing these types of missions and completing these types of missions with flying colors.”

The structure of the IA is totally different than that of the coalition forces, said 1st Lt. Thomas J. Woodard, 3rd Plt., Co. B,, 1-35 Armd. Div. platoon leader. [...] photos

Its Shari'ah, Stupid #4

This is the fourth in a series of quotes from the Offensive Jihad Thread of a censored forum.

Ibn Abi Zayd al-Qayrawani, d. 996, maliki. Cit. ur Leon Bercher, La risala ou epitre sur les elements du dogme de la loi d’Islam (Algiers 1945).
Jihad is a precept of Divine institution. We Malikis maintain that it is preferable not to begin hostilities with the enemy before having invited the latter to embrace the religion of Allah except where the enemy attacks first. They have the alternative of either converting to Islam or paying the poll tax, short of which war will be declared against them.
The Malikis issue their invitation to embrace Islam, emulating their Profit, then, if Dawa is rejected, they attack, as per the orders given in Muslim 19.4294.
The quote does not disguise the fact that Islam initiates hostilities, verifying the fact that Islam engages in offensive wars of aggressive conquest.

Cease Fire: AssIdiocy

From UN Resolution 1701 of '06:

8. ... -full implementation of the relevant provisions of the Taif Accords, and of
resolutions 1559 (2004) and 1680 (2006), that require the disarmament of all
armed groups in Lebanon, so that, pursuant to the Lebanese cabinet decision of
27 July 2006, there will be no weapons or authority in Lebanon other than that
of the Lebanese State;

10. Requests the Secretary-General to develop, in liaison with relevant
international actors and the concerned parties, proposals to implement the relevant
provisions of the Taif Accords, and resolutions 1559 (2004) and 1680 (2006),
including disarmament, and for delineation of the international borders of Lebanon,
especially in those areas where the border is disputed or uncertain, including by
dealing with the Shebaa farms area, and to present to the Security Council those
proposals within thirty days;

Did that ever happen? Hell no! Hezbollah rearmed stronger than ever. Who but a damned fool suggests that any UN force will either disarm Hamas or prevent it from re-arming? There is no precedent for it, and no possibility, because Iran has two veto wielding sponsors in the Secuirity Council.

Did the Blue Hats prevent firing missiles into Israel? No; a civilian discovered 7 rockets, informed the Blue Hats, who disarmed them. Five more escaped their attention and delivered their warheads to Israel, one of them exploding in a retirement home.

Anyone with any knowledge of the precedents and any common sense, knows damn well that:

  1. Blue Hats will not disarm Hamas
  2. Blue Hats will not prevent smuggling in more rockets
  3. Blue Hats will not prevent launching rockets into Israel
  4. Blue Hats will only serve as human shields for Hamas.
Israel can have neither peace nor security, no matter what she does; no matter what the UN does, until Islam is exterminated. This is the fatal fact which none dares contemplate, which is founded in Allah's damned book and Moe's execrable example.
  • 9:29. Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allah, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
  • 9:123. O you who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are close to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who are the Al-Muttaqun (the pious - see V.2:2).
  • Abu Dawud 14.2477
    Narrated Ibn Hawalah:

The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: It will turn out that you will be armed troops, one is Syria, one in the Yemen and one in Iraq. Ibn Hawalah said: Choose for me, Apostle of Allah, if I reach that time. He replied: Go to Syria, for it is Allah's chosen land, to which his best servants will be gathered but if you are unwilling, go to your Yemen, and draw water from your tanks, for Allah has on my account taken special charge of Syria and its people.

  • Muslim Book 041, Number 6985:
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.
  • Abu Dawud Book 14, Number 2526

    Narrated Anas ibn Malik:

The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Three things are the roots of faith: to refrain from (killing) a person who utters, "There is no god but Allah" and not to declare him unbeliever whatever sin he commits, and not to excommunicate him from Islam for his any action; and jihad will be performed continuously since the day Allah sent me as a prophet until the day the last member of my community will fight with the Dajjal (Antichrist). The tyranny of any tyrant and the justice of any just (ruler) will not invalidate it. One must have faith in Divine decree.

The Earth belongs to Allah and his Messenger; to be possessed by Jihad. Once it is in Muslim hands, it is there forever, not to be relinquished. The clearest statement of this is in Article 11 of the Hamas Charter. Israel, by regaining possession of her ancient patrimony, conquered by Caliph Umar in 638, is the ultimate insult to Islam: it proves that Allah is an impotent idol. Allah promised Muslims a 2:1 advantage. Allah promised Muslims victory. Specifically, he promised that they would conquer and dominate the Jews: The Good News that Muslims will Dominate the People of the Book.

Since Israel is living proof that Allah is an impotent idol and his promises are null & void, Muslims can not tolerate her existence. Israel can not obtain peace until Islam becomes extinct. No negotiation. no concession, no good will gesture, no land; nothing but ridding the world of Islam will bring peace to the region! All of these high sounding UN resolutions are counter productive, bringing only renewed and expanded bloodshed, never peace.

Israel must tell the UN, the 'Quartet", the EU, and the whole damn pack of hangers on to go to Hell. Israel must root out Hamas 100%, no matter how long it takes; no matter how many lives are lost in the process. Then she must ask: "Whose next?". The path to peace runs through the Muslim Cemetary; there is no other route. Any other course of action is AssIdiocy.

ABC Radio News reported at 10:00 p.m., that the USA did not veto the resolution, apparently relying on Hamas's expressed intent to reject it. The resolution should have been vetoed because of its intrinsic demerit; because it is part of the problem, not part of the solution. A cease fire has only one function: to allow Hamas to re-arm & regoup. AssIdiots are unable to learn from history.

  • 47:35. So be not weak and ask not for peace (from the enemies of Islam), while you are having the upper hand. Allâh is with you, and will never decrease the reward of your good deeds.
